Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly.......

Leave the rest to whoever you call God

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Seth? I haven't gotten anything from you in such a long time. Are you alright? Everyone here on Opera are looking for your return. If you can't return, then we understand. I hope life is treating you well.

Prayers from us all.

seems like a lot of people have gone missing on Opera....

KimberlySqueakeyCat Wednesday, November 17, 2010 11:59:23 AM

I see

Wizardlokutus-prime Wednesday, July 13, 2011 2:09:06 PM

I just caught this because I saw a comment Seth made to me years ago and somehow back then I overlooked replying both to Seth and to my friend Lucy. I've left a belated reply there and I came here to message Seth but in reading this post it's obvious to me he has not been in Opera for some time. I'll leave my link here anyway.

I wonder if his illness finally got the best of him. No one ever said what happened. He just disappeared.

I wonder if there's a way to preserve some of these early blogs, on a read only basis, you know.

Yes, Kim... Seth was all those things.... I miss him ... I still keep his page subscribed...same as I do for other friends whose Opera voices have fallen silent for reasons that we do not know of ........ sad sad

KimberlySqueakeyCat Friday, October 5, 2012 1:32:39 AM

and it seems like lately, there have been more than the usual amount of silenced members. :-(

So many of those I/we knew have gone over to that dark side alien

In the eight years since I wrote my first journal (that's what Opera blogs were called them back then) many friends and familiar faces have gone.

We are all older, time is relentless, and things and events change and influence what happens... I guess it can be called "evolution", if you will, but unlike the 'selfish gene' that is intent on one course, we consciously decide what we will do, unless an unforseen circumstance impacts on us and changes what we intended.

I am glad you, Kim, and you, H82typ, still maintain your blogs. Your individual presence adds to a good feeling, a reassurance, that things have not been totally changed in the familiar surroundings and contacts of friends I have known for a long time here, in OC

I am thankful for this.

You know, John, I owe you, Kim and Carol an apology: I hardly ever come to your blog, John, because you make me think. So many times, I'd say to myself,"I need to reply to that", then fall asleep with the phone in my hand.
@ Kim, and Carol: A lot of times, I can't see or hear, or both, your content. It's not y'alls' fault, just the limitations of my wallet and my device. sad

What scares me the most about Opera mucking about with their code is that every time they change things something gets messed up, or disappears. We had one case,(onebluebox), where her photo albums went missing, she tried for over a month working with Opera to get them back.
She was in a fatal car wreck, there was some kind of upgrade and all her images are gone. Forever. sad Carol and I nagged Espen for months. There's no way to retrieve them... *sigh*

I too play on Facebook, but I haven't even seen her there lately.

I know I don't blog that much here in OC, but that is, as Dennis stated, they have made so many changes that it is hard to make a post that will stay once I publish it.

Jim, radostsguy, can't even get his site to load in Opera anymore. The changes they have made to the coding, has made it impossible for quite a few web sites not able to load in their browser.

As for the loss of items here in OC, I would be royally pizzed if that happened to me. I have too many photos here that I don't have copies of anywhere else, including on my computer.

I am very glad that I still have some people here that are actually still willing to read what I post when I do post it.

Also, there will be a new post up in the next couple of days. I am back to DJ'n again, and will post my times and days, and the link also.

Take care all.

H82typ Sunday, October 7, 2012 6:18:48 AM

up good for you, Kim!

You should back up all your photos!

KimberlySqueakeyCat Sunday, October 7, 2012 7:30:28 AM

soon as I can remember to do it when on computer and not cell posting....lmao

You were and still are are always welcome at my blog... just as was always the case back in the times I mentioned. I try to write an interesting and simple blog and I am sorry if anything I write seems to make it not easy for you to reply to. I am an uncomplicated man and I don't want anyone to feel that what I write about is hard to comment to... I am just being myself when I write my poetry, stories and other things. Apologies for unkowingly making it hard for you to comment on my posts.

Thanks.

John

Hi Kim, I read what you posted about depression and the overprescribing or mal-prescribing of drugs and the associated risks and consequences. It was a tour-de-force in writing. I could not add anything meaningful to what you posted because I have not personally had any experience of the things that happened to you ... but I would like to assure you that you gave out very meaningful and valuable and valid information in all that you described. I suspect that similiar things are happening in my own country where doctors have prescribed chemical treatment almost as a knee jerk reaction (I know of at least one case where that has happened and from what I heard there are probably other cases that are known to circles of people in the same situation).

Thanks, Kim

John
