Friday 21st of October 2011 i woke up with an excitement that was beyond me,i was so happy that finaly i was going to a village even though it wasn't my village but the fact was it was a village and i've always wanted to go there and experience that life style as am used to the town urban kind of life style. . .got packed and ready for the road trip to the village known as magoyi found in mazabuka southern province of my country its also known as Tonga Land one of the zambian tribes you find thats known around Zambia. . . .we got to Magoyi around 5pm and started seting up Camp, when i say WE am refering to my fellow NGO members of Amit community development and Brotherhood we were invited for a ceremony and we went to donate things too. . .when we got to Magoyi the first word out of my mouth was "wow" some of my friends looked at me like i was CRAZY seeing as our surroundings was nothing but bushes and tiny houses made out of mud and grass roofing and old people that we don't get to se on the daily, cows, goats, pigs all around us and most of all this place had no electricity,no tap proper water we had to pump the water and that meant fatching and cooking on firehood using the sky as our light my goodness i was in love with this village and wanted to get involved in the way of life right way which i did after we were given a tour of the place, while my friends were crying about there phones going off blah!blah i was on cloud 9. . . .all in all my village experience is one i wouldn't mind embarking on again,i loved the cooking on firewood, fatching water, the crazy bath time moments wondering if someone will just walk in on me as the bathrooms were just made out of mud shoulder level no doors,no roof. . .ha!ha awesome right,as being here for the weekend has been awesome. . . .my village experience will be repeated AGAIN I PROMISE MESELF. . .as i go back home am happy and thankful for what i have in life
