Opera + Dead Body + Creek

Best thing about a dog refusing to bark
There won't be any sort of timecoded aural landmarks
say, if someone happens to be walking by
as a dead body launches down the creek

Dog's name is Opera
loves people
refuses to be bothered with other animals
likes to walk on the back parcel
right above the creek

I've been becoming more & more disenchanted
with television's celebration of forensic celebrities
I poked the corpse with a stick
as I have seen in movies
Opera sniffed a couple of sniffs
Then I had a profound & epiphanous vision

Dead bodies are heavy
the creek would probably overflow in the spring
with all the snow we've had this year
would probably attract scavangers
scavangers & pesky forensics investigators

I built the raft
out of dead & fallen trees
lashed it together with ten skiens of twine
rolled the body down to the bank
& launched it with an empty bottle of wine

This creek cuts through five other HOAs
I'm fairly certain it would find it's way
into the folkloric annals of forensicology
further down stream
