Along with the great summer weather comes numerous outdoor jobs that have to be done. It takes a lot of effort to keep your lawn and the outside of your home looking perfect. Some things can be done seasonally, but many jobs must be done on a weekly basis.

Your landscaping is one of the things that needs constant care to look it's best. If winter wasn't good to your lawn, you can plant grass seed to cover bare spots. Fertilizing your lawn will replace nutrients in the soil that that winter cold has destroyed and give you a healthier lawn.

Wood chips and plastic sheeting can be utlized in flower beds to eliminate weeding. It can also assist the soil to retain moisture and reduce watering times. And, your trees, bushes and shrubs will need to be trimmed and pruned.

Your decking is another thing that the winter months aren't commonly too good for. The wood can look faded and dried out and may require resealing with a good moisture proof sealant. Any crevices and cracks should be checked for leaves or debris that can hold water and cause the wood to disintegrate.

While solar lighting fixtures are practically maintenance free, they do need to be cleaned. Any solar panels must be wiped off to help them perform at their best. And, you should remove the glass globes and clean them well to allow the light to shine through better.

The outside of your house must be checked every summer and any cracks or loose pieces of siding or bricks should be attended to. Rain seeping behind any loose bits of siding or cracked bricks will cause the wooden foundation to rapidly rot. Mould or stains can be removed with preprietary products, or often simply with soap and water.

If you have a swimming pool the water should be tested weekly. Keeping the chemical balance in your pool at the recommended level will keep the water free of bacteria and clean for your family. And, the heat of the summer will make the bacteria and germs to incubate so don't hold back on this task.

Keeping your outdoor jobs done on a regular schedule can actually save you time over the long term. There're also numerous ways to eliminate some jobs, such as installing automatic sprinklers. And, the less work that you have to do, the more time you can spend participating in your most loved summer activities.
