Global Warming and Religion

There have been ads on BBC or ITV (don't remember which) about a documentary on how religion is reacting to the threat of global warming. The ad states that religion often arrives late on the scene short of breath in any perceived major incident such as this.
It seems now though, that religion has decided that there is indeed an issue that they are the people to get the job sorted out. Well, lets hope so. It would make a nice change for religion to be able to put its name to something good for a change!
Funny though. A year ago my religious friends were most definitely fence sitters on the issue and now, guess what? They are green zealots. It was as if there was never a doubt! Their church must have intervened (divinely of course) and set them on a path to green nirvana (or is it Valhalla – or am I totally confused?). Well anyway. Thank God for religion.
