Pebble In The Shoe Of Time

Limping Badly

Sir Isaac Newton

The mathematical and scientific discoveries of Sir Isaac Newton (1642 - 1727) are astronomical. Some of the most notable of his achievements include the invention of calculus, the discovery of the laws of motion and the law of gravitation, and the construction of the first reflecting telescope. He also was a man known for his Christian faith. He spent a great portion of his time studying the Bible with a special interest in prophecy. Following are some of his quotations.
On the Bible:
"I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired. I study the Bible daily."
On atheism:
"Atheism is so senseless. When I look at the solar system. I see the earth at the right distance from the sun to receive the proper amounts of heat and light. This did not happen by chance."
At the time of his death, he left more than a million words of notes on the Bible. Six years after his death, Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St. John was published. Not only was Isaac a great scientist but also a dedicated student of the Bible.

From the quote above, Isaac Newton seemed to have a lot more common sense than many scientists today who look at the creation and see no God. Creation is the proof of God's existence, but some seem blind to that.

Scientists today have less excuse than those in Newton's day, for science has shown much more detail about the creation and has shown that design choices have been made in the universe that require a Designer.

Yes. it's hard to understand how anyone could doubt God's existence or, for that matter, the genuine reality of Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah. Well, we know why. The Bible tells us: 2 Cor. 4:3,4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
That's why we pray for people and endeavor to reach the lost. Their very souls and eternity are at stake!

God, who is love and has infinite wisdom and power, has provided a way for even those who have not had the opportunity in this life to accept Jesus Christ to have a future opportunity to be converted and saved. Those who have never had the opportunity to become Christians in this life will rise in a general resurrection, as described in Ezekiel 37:1-14, and at that time they will have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ, to repent, and to receive God's Holy Spirit (verse 14). No human who has ever been born will lose out on salvation because of circumstances of birth. Only those who freely choose to reject God's offer will be permanently lost.

But we should still preach the gospel to the world as a witness. I agree that this is very important. The world needs the gospel and the Ezekiel warning (Ezekiel 3:16-21 and Ezekiel 33:1-11).
