FTA simply means free to air television whereby you do not need to pay any subscription fee to be able to view certain satellite channels unlike the one we are used to like DSTV, MYTV, HITV. It is called (DTH)direct to home. that required monthly subscription.
The tv channels you will have to recieve is based on the size of dish you use and the also the satellite you are facing the dish to. You have the choice of ku band lnb which usually need the 90cm dish (dstv size) but the number of station you will recieve wont be much. But if you are using 1.8meter or 2.5meter dish you will need c-band lnb and that means more stations depending on the satellite you hooked up with, it can recieve as much as 80 to 400 for 1.8 and 2.5meter respectively. You will have to bear in mind that what you are watching is free to air not pay tv, so the type of channel you will recieve could not be the best but will worth it. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN KU BAND AND C BAND? Ku band is a signal that permits the use of smaller antennas that are aesthetically better and much cheaper than c band's A typical ku band antenna ranges from 50cm to 1.2meter while c band antenna ranges from 1.8meter, 2.8, 3.0, 4.2meters etc Ku band requires less radio power than c band to provide the same signal strenght thus allowing a smaller antenna. WHAT DO I NEEDED FOR THIS TO BE POSSIBLE?
1.The satelite dish, be it pan or fiber dish.
2. Lnb of either universal or single band lnb.
3.Digital satelite reciver commonly strong reciever.
4.coxial cable wire
HOW CAN DIS BE DONE? Can i do it my self?
