O-H! I-O! ... and just desserts

The No.1 Ohio State Buckeyes are going to the BCS Championship Bowl!!!!!!
We played a formidible game with the Michigan Wolverines on home turf and emerged victors with a 42-39 score. It was a fantastic meeting. My throat was sore from cheering here at home but it was well worth it! We remain undefeated at 12-0 for the season and have clinched the Big Ten title, our first in 22 years, not to mention an almost guaranteed Heisman for quarterback Troy Smith. Our contender in the forthcoming match remains to be seen with the other conference teams' remaining games yet to be played. The talk has been that we might be facing the Wolverines again in the Bowl, should they remain in 2nd place along with the outcome from the remaining matches. Then again the Conference is full of enough surprises to keep those statisticians' fingers busy! But I know we can win the Bowl in January no matter who we wind up playing, and that's all that matters!

Well, the convictions fallout has begun for those (unfortunately) having had or been ties to Ohio's campaign draw in the 2000 and 2004 presidential bids and related onerous "extracirricular" activities. The laundered-money movers and shakers and rare coin investment takers who were once shining stars for the White House brass, with regular and frequent visits and otherwise cozy communication have found gravity with the justice system. Former (and now disgracefully "retired") Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH) and the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation cog-cum-rare coin investor-cum-crook Tom Noe, will serve 6 and 18 years respectively, for their crimes committed while in cahoots with just-as-disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. As for the former two miscreants who've had the dishonor of misrepresenting Ohio along with their latter mutual pal, all I have to say is... enjoy the "cigars" in jail, gentlemen.
:clown:
It's actually going to be mild, dry and
yes, sunny weather for Thanksgiving day travel in these parts. This year all the nasty storm systems are paying a visit to the Eastern seaboard along the Carolinas, Virginia, and up towards New England which just might affect the Macy's Parade. From the way things are looking Snoopy and gang just might have to don made-to-scale slickers alongside their carriers!
Of course I'll be visiting my folks and 1/2 of my immediate family for dinner, so that will be nice.

I leave you with yet another comic riposte for the week that was published today in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
A Very Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans here, as well as those serving abroad.
Later!
