Re-racking part 1
Thursday, October 27, 2005 11:56:07 AM
I'm updating my rack and finally putting everything on my floorboard.
What needs to be done :
1)putting the whammy IV in the rack, loop 3 on the GRX-4 and controlling it by means of the Rocktron All Access and a ernie ball volume pedal
2) changing the GRX-4's position, from in the fx loop to before the pre-amp, and optimizing the cable in the rack.
3) finding another place for the Z-11
4) attaching the following to the floorboard, make it function as desired, and without ground loops
5) making it possible for some delay-drained effects to have a CC button to switch the delay on and off.
6) changing some things from serial to parallel fx-loop (kill dry on the g-force)
I started working on it this saturday, with re-routing the GRX-4. That was a piece of cake. All is attached, just have to change the length on some of the cable I use. Then I changed the kill dry function on the g-force. No problem either, just had to take the manual and relook some things.
Then... mayhem. Adding the Whammy to the rack. Why didn't I just do it the simple way, and added it to the pedal board. My intentions were to make some presets where I could just use the CC's on the all access. Well since I put the whammy in one of the loops of the GRX-4... I couldn't change both the GRX-4 and the whammy. therefor I had to change my idea of changing it with CC's, and had to go for PC's. So I renamed my 4th midi-channel as the whammy channel, so I could use a function of the Whammy per Pc I already made. But to use the whammy, I still kept the on/off function of the GRX-4 as a CC. So when I want to use the preset... I tap the pc, and then put the loop on...
So far so good... so what...
Now I'm still figuring out how to control the whammy with the ernie ball volume pedal...
I'll keep you updated
