What does this refer to?

It's an optical filter that compensates the luminosity difference between
sky and foreground. GND4 compensates 2 stops difference.
GND aka "GRADUATED NEUTRAL DENSITY" filter, if you take a look at Google you could found a lot of info about.

Thank you. This summer I'm taking the training wheels off of my digital photography, and purchasing a digital SLR, so I'll need to know how to read those f-stops & shutter speeds, as well as learn how to use all those filters...
