Now it's Firefox vs. Safari! Fight!
A clash between Apple and Mozilla? This could be the browser equivalent of the immovable object against the unstoppable force!

The recent updates to Firefox and Flock made it easier for the Netscape users to switch. I hope Opera is also welcoming the incoming Netscapers with the ease of switching

Oh, this is hilarious!
Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer are walking along a street, when they see a beggar who asks them "can you spare something for an old man?".
So Firefox takes an add-on and gives it to the man. Upon which Opera looks at Firefox saying "I can't believe you are giving away something that's so important to you!", "Don't worry", says Firefox, "I have so many of those!".
Then Opera turns to the man and gives him one of his features. Upon which Firefox looks at Opera and says "I can't believe you are giving away something that's so important to you!", "Don't worry" says Opera, "I have so many of those!".
Now of course Internet Explorer doesn't want to be left out, so he turns to the man and gives him a virus. Upon which Firefox and Opera look at Internet Explorer in stunned silence! Internet Explorer looks back at them in surprise and says "Don't worry, I have so many of those!".

Yes, according to Mozilla, Firefox is the SAFEST browser:

However, if you ask
Secunia, the internet security expert, they will tell you otherwise:

Yet another Mozilla lie to promote Firefox... Why can't they just say "We have one of the safest browsers on the market" instead of misrepresenting themselves in this way?

The image above is from the new Firefox community advertising project at newsfx.spreadfirefox.com

You know, I kind of like Firefox. It's an OK browser. You know, kind of like THOSE browsers that you would recommend to your not-so-tech-savvy relative or friend. It's simple, does not have a lot of features right out of the box, but it's OK, they won't need much anyway. But advertising it as the FASTEST browser is just plain lying. It pisses me off how they try to win people just based on a "coolness" factor without any foundation to what they say. Oh well... Currently I use Flock and Opera together and none of them engage in such false advertising, however Mozilla is really desperate. I guess it makes sense, since just simply searching for "Firefox" in Google News will reveal that many people start wondering whether or not Mozilla will fix those nasty memory leaks that make the browser and the system you use it on so slow.

Firefox sponsors the Fire Fox at Toronto Zoo : AdamSchwabe.com
Wow! I know at least part of the reason of the big success of the FireFox is its marketing, kind of like Apple. This is just another testament to their ingenuity

Hmmm, I wonder if there is any animal that at least remotely has "opera" in its name...

browser war, apple, safari, mozilla
...

Browser war, that is. You may have thought it was over but no. Steve Jobs just had to
make fun of Microsoft and just had to
introduce Safari for Windows... Oh well, whatever the deal is, Opera will always be #1 for me for its speed, features, and reliability.
I downloaded the public beta version of Safari 3 for Vista, and let me tell you,
it sucks! So many bugs and such an ugly non-native interface with only a handful of features, yuck! Let us better hope it was just beta and something new and better is coming along the way!
One the other hand, variety and competition cannot be that bad, especially for us, consumers

Hopefully, more websites will be standard-compliant so everybody can browse!
