There are thousands of sites that allows you to have fun with Avatars and Profile pictures.
I recently came across Gravatar, a site that allows you to upload and link a image to your e-mail address. Provided that the site you comment on has implemented Gravatar (2 lines of code) you will then have your Avatar even when posting anonymously. This will be a feature on the site Maggie and I will share.
Now, if you have a avatar that's fine, but how do you go about creating one? Well, it doesn't have to be that hard, just grab a photo of yourself (or in Tamil's case a picture of a monkey. Either edit it in your favorite editing software, or use one of the following sites that does it for you!
I started with the following image "stolen" from a friends only album by Oleg and tried a few sites. Have a go yourself!
And yes, I will enable images on my comments again..
So, Friday again so soon.. This week just flew away with lots of school work that needed to be done. I'm about 35% done with my Sociology assignment that's due next Friday and thanks to the awesome people at Opera I got the data material I needed to finish it up. This weekend will be spent finishing of what I can for my assignment and preparing for the final interviews I have on Monday. For those interested I'm writing about Unions in high knowledge industries like Opera :)
Fortunately it's not all school, always leave room for some play.. Tomorrow Maggie and I are joining a couple we know to see Twilight 2 New Moon. Maggie loves the movies and I love her, so I guess this makes sense. Unfortunately I wont be able to get her the t-shirt in time for the movie (a "sparkle you fool, SPARKLE" t-shirt she wanted). Nevertheless I'm looking forward to spending some time away from the assignment on Saturday!
In response to our member of the week ShallowMuse this week I decided to create my own album cover :)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random... Read More” The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to "Random quotations" The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
It's been a while since the last time I really got into a first person shooter, or any game for that sake, however It's time however to jump on the band-wagon and praise Modern Warfare 2.
So, what's so awesome about it? Well, everything.. The graphics are superb, even on my now not so state of the art laptop I still run 1280x720, medium settings with no problems at all even in large multiplayer maps.
Speaking of multiplayer, that's the part I love. Team based matches with several game modes to choose from works great. Call in attack helicopters and missile strikes, sneak around with your sniper or go mental with a shotgun in hand. It's all good! Since multiplayer performance is tracked by experience both as a character and for your weapons there is always something cool to do. I've been spending a lot of time to perfect my M1A1, get all the attachments and more.
A part that's been trashed a bit is the way the game does multiplayer servers. However I like the fact that users are the hosts, no waiting for servers and if it turns out that the host isn't that good the game merges over to a new host (another player) super fast and your good to go again!
Now all I need to do is complete the single player storyline, then buy the game for my brother so we can play co-operative mode and own up the multiplayer part.
That being said, I haven't really played any first person shooters since Counter Strike, so I'm a bit more rusty than I remember. Perhaps also a bit slower than I used to be. In the words of Toby Keith: "I'm not as good as I once was, but I was good once.."
