Encounter Vilnius

Encounter is a type of orienteering competition with cars, but it is not enought to drive fast. The main point is how quick you can decipher various hints. After decoding the hint you have to drive to the place where should be a code. Usually these places are abandoned buildings  Yesterday I have tried it myself  It was amazing! More than 20 teams (1 team approximately 6-10 people) are searching for codes in Elektrenai district and compete between each other :ninja: Definetely in such game one people doesn't mean as much as whole team  Everybody were saying that something in this weekend game was wrong... Maybe it was because almost all the places were abandoned farms and it becomes boring to look for codes in the same type of buildings?... But at the end of the game everything changed  One of the teams were attacked by village people ;D So more than 15 cars drove to help  Well there was nothing serious, but still very very good end of the game  Thanks Orient.lt team which let me join their team  I really had a good time  More about Encounter Vilnius http://vilnius.en.cx and my photos can be found right here >>> P-H-O-T-O-S

Street challange "Operation - clover"

One of the most difficult and longest street challanges I have ever taken part in  Yes, it is "Operation - clover" There were things that I didn't like (off road, maze of maize and police ;D), but definetely there were lots of things that made this event amazing (mane participants, tricky tasks...) And the most important thing is that all the people (5 cars) from Astra club finished this street challange  Only 20 out of 42 made it  Astra club members took 1, 2, 6, 7, 13 and 17'th places  PHOTOS

London. United Kingdom.

1. if you want to find pretty girls in London, try to do it in a museum or Oxford street, 2. Maserati, Bentley or Aston Martin aren't luxury goods in London, 3. Londoners use iPhones or Blueberries with mobile internet in order not to get lost in their own city, 4. Corset with ballerina's dress or hose with thin sweater is a new fashion? 5. British pub "White horse" in Piccadilly in number 1 pub, 6. You need 4 days to become a Londoner, 6. City of schizophrenics, 7. the most popular beer advertisement is a dark background and a bottle of beer opening it self with a huge fizz, etc. This is what I found out during my trip to London  It was the first time I was in this enormous city and I liked it very very much  It is a city where everybody could find what you are looking for  Museums, theatres, huge old buildings, lots of clubs, various shops and so on and so for... :sherlock: It is hard to express all the feelings in words  Better to show some pictures! So here it is --> ! ! ! Rally "Aplink Lietuvą 2009"

Harsh weather and traditional rally "Aplink Lietuvą 2009" (eng. Around Lithuania) Despite the fact it was cold and wet to watch, rally drivers managed to make us forget about all bad things  P-h-o-t-o-s

VU EF freshers' camp

Do you remember the greatest summer of your life? Would it be truth if I say that it was the summer between school and university? One year ago I was a fresher and at the same time I heard about freshers' camp I decided to take part in it  And truly it was amazing! We found many new friends, had a lot of fun and learnt what we can do university. At the same camp we got an invitation to students' representation. Definitely, we all were so excited about freshers' camp which is being organized by students' representation that I and some other friends decided to join this organization  Finally, after a year we got an opportunity to organize freshers' camp :raider: Whole summer was imposed to it, but those few days with new students and their huge sparkling eyes rewarded everything :wizard: This year freshers listened some lectures about new opportunities in university, had lots of games, danced all nights and found many new friends  If you want not only to read, but also to see, check out these pictures

First parachute jump - a whole day of entertainment

Parachute jump may look quick and simple, but it isn't at all  Especially if you jump for a first time  Last Sunday we took our friend Tomas to Pociunai aerodrome for the first jump out of a plane  It was the simpliest jump with dome type parachute in 800 metre height  But despite this fact Tomas had to hear out various instructions and practise with simulators  One more thing must be noticed about Pociunai aerodrom. Maybe because of perfect weather for jumps there was so many people... I have never thought that aerodroms in Lithuania prosper so good and there are so many foreign people from Germany, Netherlands, Italy... It is very pleasure to find out this  If you are interested please ckeck out M-Y__P-I-C-T-U-R-E-S from Pociunai aerodrom

Weekend of canoeing, traveling and good time :)

Astra-club members continue tradition to canoe together at least one time per year  This time we tried Šešupė river. Briefly slack-water of river and whole nature of scrub and nettles around is awful, but such a good company rasom everything  Definitely, we had some more problems  Firstly, we haven't sent our data to frontier troops one day before canoeing  Šešupė flows almost in Russia so you have to have a licence  Secondly, we started our voyage too late P: And that is why we finished first day almost at night  And thirdly, we have lost one paddle... :D Of course, everything went good and all the minuses were converted to pluses  After voyage we have visited some great places near road to Vilnius from Vilkaviškis  Here is some photos of superb weekend  ! ! ! Omintel 1000km race

Every year since 2000 Palanga town becomes more and more popular among car sport fans because of the biggest car race in Baltic states  This year it was anniversary 10'th 1000km race  Besides, this event was a part of Lithuanias name 1000 birthday  Huge variety of teams try to win 1000 km race and show what they can. This year organizers got 52 applications to participate in 1000 km race. There were drivers from many countries such as Germany, Belgium, Russia, Ukrain, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, UK... Despite the business depression we saw Ginetta G50 R, Ferrari F430, Porsche GT3, Nissan 350Z, Kitcar... All in all the winner of this year race is Ferrari F430  Of course I have many pictures so have a fun  ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! P-H-O-T-O-S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Tebūnie naktis 2009

Absolutely near to fiasco... This is what I can say about the event called "Let there be night" :ninja: The shortest night of the year Vilnius citizens and its guests do not sleep due to the fact that organisation "Vilnius - European culture capital of 2009" led us to new tradition, to spend all the shortest night of the year in various events  Definitely, a dream is quite beutiful, but reality is that this year there was too much inaccuracies and lags Homer: Doh! Fortunately, I with my friends were in a very good mood so we didn't give it prominence :hat: We were very happy of what we managed to see  Mimes, musicians, fakirs, dancers... This is what you could see last night in Vilnius  If you wasn't here, probably you might want to see at least some photos  MY PHOTOS :wizard:

1000 km around Lithuania

Last weekend three beutiful persons: me, Vejunas and Toma decided to take part in touring rally near Kaunas  It is about 100 km from our home city Vilnius  It was very early when we started our trip around Lithuania... But we took Jurga with her energetic doggy to Kaunas and that small cute doggy woke up us fully P: After some time we came to registration and started touring rally where we had to tent, make a fire, calculate azimuth, find check points in a forest and so on  After the rally we decided not to come back to Vilnius, but go ahead to Šiauliai (about 140 km from Kaunas) There we took part in street challange  Next day Vėjūnas said that he doesn't want to come back to Vilnius so early (it was about 15 pm :D) So he suggested to go to Palanga (about 140 km from Šiauliai) :D And this suggestion was brilliant  Between these two towns we also visited a private zoo of some animals  At last, when we came to Palanga the sky became absolutely blue  It was so relaxing... But everything what is good ends... About 9 pm we started our trip home  We were very tired, but that 340 km didn't look so much when a good company is in one car  We hope this wasn't the last time of such spontaneous trip around Lithuania P: Here we have some photos
