Quirk Life

A life only the radomest could love...

This makes me want to cry.

, , ,

The group that protests homosexuals at fallen soilders funerals are now planning on pickiting the funerals of the kids killed at Virginia tech. They apparently announced only hours after the news started flying through media.

I don't even want to write about this. So here's a quote and the link.

“The evidence is they were not Christian. God does not do that to his servants,” Phelps-Roper said. “You don’t need to look any further for evidence those people are in hell.”

Cho Seung-Hui, the Virginia Tech student responsible for the killings who took his own life after the shootings, was sent by God to punish those he killed, and America as a whole, for moral decline, said Phelps-Roper, while adding that she believes Cho is also in hell for violating God’s commandment to not kill.

“He is in hell,” Phelps-Roper said. “But he was also fulfilling the word of God.”

Those darn kids...So I'm back from my My Opera hiatus.

This is so disgusting! I actually saw a BBC-program on these people by Louis Theroux (son of Paul) last week. What struck me was that these people had no doubts whatsoever, they were thinking in absolute terms. Typical for religious zealots I suppose. Fortunately they seem to be very marginal indeed.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6507971.stm

Nikio 24. April 2007, 15:42

I wouldn't waste words on that... Thank god, i live in a society where these things don't happen (massive shootings) or they are inhibited to the level where they don't appear in media (public display of someones bullshit).

Deke 25. April 2007, 22:40

I saw part of the the Theroux documentary as well. These guys are loony tunes. Ignore them, any reaction you might have simply encourages them, the only thing they can't take is not being noticed.

pandashavingtorture 3. May 2007, 12:43

I saw the documentary too! By gum, how odd!

YouTube Here of Louis commenting on the docu in question! I dunno if it has been, or will be on BBC America. It's the empire all over again I tells ya!

Oh well, we can only hope they see sense one of these days.

wickedlizard 7. May 2007, 21:19

that is terrible!

Amy_E 8. May 2007, 01:01

It is soooo weird.. I think their all a little disturbed, when it comes to gays.

pandashavingtorture 8. May 2007, 15:53

Most of the family seem quite nice when they're not on a hate rampage, the evil minister and his daughter are the exceptions.

I feel for the children really. Brought up by psychopathic evil, they've got an incredibly distorted sense of reality the poor things. They have no friends, except for themselves, they get teased at school constantly, practically alienated from society at such an important time in their life.

Amy_E 8. May 2007, 16:06

They are. No one likes what their doing. Those soilders died for them. They could at the very least avoid being asses and disrespecting their graves. I mean, I disagree with alot of stuff but at the same time, no matter what, I would never picket ANYONE's grave.

pandashavingtorture 8. May 2007, 16:26

What I want to know is why they seemingly go after everyone directly, except for people of the homosexual orientation! They are presumably the ones they truly despise. This probably suggests that they pretty much hate everyone and not just gays. They certainly have no respect for anyone other than themselves anyway. It's horrible to think that the woman at the helm of these protests is a lawyer! Errrrrr, I bet she's real popular with the clientèle. Who would want to be represented by her I don't know. The devil himself? Hmmmm... *ponders the thought*

As far as I know they don't go out to gay bars, or sex change clinics with their posters and banners, but instead focus their rage on soldiers' graves, or even the US as a whole. A very displaced rage indeed.

"FAGS EAT FAECES" - Hmmmm I think the only ones gobbling up crap are the practitioners of this pseudo religion!

wickedlizard 8. May 2007, 16:39

i have nothing against homosexuals... live and let live is my motto. this particular scenario is idiotic... what these particular ones are doing... but don´t stereotype all "gays" as thinking the same...

pandashavingtorture 8. May 2007, 18:57

I have nothing against homosexuals or homosexuality. I think it's a natural phenomenon, probably due to the effects that steroid hormones have on the brain at early the stages of brain development. Namely oestrogen and androgens (testosterone etc). I think trans gender disorders can also be explained by this, unless it occurs abruptly in a person's life, in which case it's more likely a purely psychological matter, rather than a physical.

"but don´t stereotype all "gays" as thinking the same..." - were you referring to my comment about the family not protesting at "gay bars" and "sex change clinics"? I found that hard to write personally, I don't know what kinds of places people mainly of the homosexual orientation hang out at and I'm well aware that they don't all want to have a sex change!

I'd like to spend a day as a girl, though I'd much prefer not to experience the horrors of a monthly! :yuck:

Haha! I noticed years ago that if I flipped my name backwards it reads nadiA!

Interesting that! P:

wickedlizard 10. May 2007, 13:10

pandashavingtorture 10. May 2007, 14:15

You still like Aphex Isa?

Deke 10. May 2007, 23:45

Aphex? Isn't that the company that makes devices to make music sound better on radio just like the one we didn't have on...

...erm, the radio station that I worked for for 5 days that I'm not going to name because it will identify me to waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many people?...

Back then a whole radio station couldn't afford one, now I can afford to buy one for my guitar which is also smaller, faster, and all-round better.

...and they try to say that inflation is rampant. :D

pandashavingtorture 11. May 2007, 06:20

Heh heh! I was talking about the Aphex Twin, otherwise known as Richard D James. The Aphex part is taken from a company that makes high quality audio gear for recording and seemingly broadcast from what you say. Hmmmm so you've worked for radio... albeit for 5 days. I would love to fiddle with some knobs and pedals at the BBC. The Archers would all of a sudden sound like a fantasy land full of hobbits and elves and that talking lion who lives in a rather large wardrobe! Using reverb galore and those various high frequency optimizing fx that make music sound much more ethereal and enchanting.

If I remember correctly the company is called Aphex Systems. Mr Twin uses his name with permission

Personally I had to gain permission from a prolific sadomasochist in the Rhondda valleys to use mine. He's a sick bastard he is. The things he do just ain't right.

Furie 11. May 2007, 15:48

These people need to be stopped.

Mickeyjoe_irl 11. May 2007, 18:39

Of all the insensitive, disgusting things you could do at funeral :furious:

One can only hope this will backfire spectacularly.

If the group is so sure these people are in hell, would they mind going there and checking for me?

wickedlizard13 11. May 2007, 19:19

sickos, a bunch of sickos!!!! :furious:

pandashavingtorture 11. May 2007, 21:39

I guess protests like this asks one VERY important question! Is free speech really worth it?

Personally I think any show of public hatred, whether it's done in person or shared with media, should be completely outlawed and that's that! End of story!

What is the deal with most American states and their seemingly anti-gay stance anyway? I never get that, it seems very mid-twentieth century!

Furie 11. May 2007, 21:49

Free speech should never be used as an excuse to cause misery and suffering to anyone, and yet that is so often it's main use.

Things like this are a disgusting mis-use of power granted only because these people masquerade themselves as doing God's work. Can you imagine a stalker using that excuse for following and harassing a woman for months on end? "God told me to do it" Yeah, he'd be locked up for his own and everyone else's safety.

It's the same principle with these people. They proudly refer to themselves as the most hated family in america and yet still they roam freely after desecrating dozens of examples of one of the hardest times a family will have to go through.

pandashavingtorture 11. May 2007, 22:18

They do tend to hang out on pavements, sorry sidewalks, so there is a decent possibility that a drunk driver might plough through all of them.

I'm not saying I want this, or that some people may see this as a preferable outcome, because that would be naughty! I am merely stating it as a possibility.

pkmink 11. May 2007, 22:22

 Can't the people who are insulted go to court and ask for some sort of restraining order? I know in Holland its possible, but rare, I suppose in the US pretty impossible..

wickedlizard 11. May 2007, 22:38

i don´t know where common sense is these days... or even consideration, or empathy for the feelings of others... are people so self-centered? it is sad and pathetic.

pkmink 11. May 2007, 22:46

yes, totally agree...

Furie 11. May 2007, 23:14

Earlier up the comments is a conversation asking why these people go after everyone apart from the homosexuals that they actually have a problem with. Having had dealings with several people like this, I can give an answer, although it's likely to make a lot of people feel sick at the thought of it.

The reason is simple. As these people portray themselves as Christians, and picket funerals normally held in Christian churches, they will come across as the good guys to some of the Christians there no matter what they do. The image is that they're only reduced to doing these things because the problem they're protesting against is so insidious. Therefore a lot of people will blame gay people for these acts even though they took no part in them. This church will defend itself by saying "don't shoot the messenger" implying that they're simply trying to save us all.

On a related issue, BNP members are taught that they are the secret army needed to protect their Queen from the homosexuals. They're shown faked letters from members of the british government (at least, I hope they're fake) that backs this story up. The grunt levels truly believe this is their calling and reason for existance. Scary thought eh?

Plus, remember, a soldiers funeral will get all sorts of media coverage for their little banners. Hell, a local news crew is likely to be present anyway.

wickedlizard 11. May 2007, 23:46

horrible... :irked:

Furie 12. May 2007, 00:01

All it takes is a little "education" to make these people see the error of their ways.

pandashavingtorture 12. May 2007, 16:58

... or a little psychotherapy.

Deke 12. May 2007, 18:53

...or disbrass knuckles...

Furie 12. May 2007, 19:37

Deke's suggestion is closest to my style of "education" for these people.

pandashavingtorture 12. May 2007, 21:47

"Violence solves nothing" - the greatest lie ever told!

Anyone got a hatchet and a mallet handy?

Furie 12. May 2007, 22:33

Try a blowtorch and some chewing gum...

Amy_E 13. May 2007, 01:24

Lol, chewing gum? That's inventive. I think someone should just get their shotgun out and shoot them- accidently, of corse, in a hunting accident. I mean, who is to say someone can't hunt for some squirles at a graveyard?

Chasetastic 13. May 2007, 05:52

I'm a christian and I actually don't mind people who have feelings for the same sex. I have a few friends who are bi (and christian!) and I just say that if they feel that way then go for it. It's not all christians who are homophobic, just a lot. I used to go to a Baptist private school and they were extremely homophobic and it pissed me off. Lol. But also a lot of people in America are homophobic but some people seem to pick out religious parties. In my opinion it's not fair. Just letting everyone know from a Non-Denominational Christian standpoint. :D

And yeah these people are asses. lol. Just don't generalize christians saying they all hate gays. P:

Furie 13. May 2007, 09:30

Of course not Chasetastic. But these people portray themselves that way in order to spread their hatred throughout the people that may feel kindred to them because of their religion. Ninety percent of the christians that hate other groups only follow the religion because they haven't been given an alternative as a child, or they want social contact. Those that truly follow any religion wouldn't do something like this.

And yeah, chewing gum. Gotta get the taste of burning flesh outta ya mouth somehow.

Amy_E 13. May 2007, 14:49

Yea, I don't think you can blame a religion as a whole for such hate. I just wish some more moderate Christians would come out of the woodwork and start protesting those who are hurthing so many.

And yea, alot of people join a religion for social reason. I wish they wouldn't. People really need to think about religion in a more intellectual way, so they don't get into somthing stupid just because they want friends.

pandashavingtorture 13. May 2007, 14:53

Hmmmmm it seems that a lot of people want them dead one way or the other. Or in the least they're implying it.

Amy does this mean it's time for a vote on ur blog about what should happen to the this most dysfunctional of families?

Something like...

What Should We Do With The Phelps???

a) Kill 'em anyway possible
b) Kill 'em humanely
c) Kill 'em and sell their bodies to the necrophiliac population of New Jersey
d) Torture 'em till they die
e) Cut their legs off and send them to Siberia
f) Force them to act out homoerotic love scenes in porn movies
g) Lock them up in a solitary confinement with HARDCORE gay porn plastered across the walls, behind a thick layer of bullet proof glass
h) Put them in the gallows every single year at the Mardi Gras
i) Torture them with psychotropic drugs and lobotomy
j) Imprison them in Aidan's sadist garage where he'll force them to eat their own faeces in front of a webcam

Of course, it's probably best if you choose the options if you go ahead with it!

Furie 13. May 2007, 14:56

I'd vote J but with the stipulation that it's someone else's faeces.

pandashavingtorture 13. May 2007, 14:58

Awwwww you feel left out do you Mr Furie?

Or did you have someone else in mind?

Furie 13. May 2007, 15:07

Call me Mik. And what the hell?@someone else?

wickedlizard 13. May 2007, 15:56

nevermind Mik, aidan likes to tease... he is actually a sweetie...

Amy_E 13. May 2007, 15:58

LoL I added it. Now y'all need to vote.

pandashavingtorture 13. May 2007, 16:28

Chasetastic 13. May 2007, 20:11

Ok well that's good. I just wanted to make sure Christians as a whole aren't being critisized. And it's a shame that these jerk faces make Christians look like this, but that's mostly because of media. Ugh.

Furie 13. May 2007, 20:24

I just thought we were finding out waaaaay too much bout your hobbies there Issy. p::lol: Don't worry Chase, I never class one group as all being the same, except maybe the people that voted for Bush.

wickedlizard 13. May 2007, 23:17

huh???? :eyes: what are YOU on about now?????

CaptainSeagull 14. May 2007, 03:32

some people are sh*theads

Chasetastic 14. May 2007, 04:00

 pretty much.

Furie 14. May 2007, 08:16

Issy, check out the someone else link. Then what I said about someone else just above it.

wickedlizard 14. May 2007, 13:10

utterly confused now Mik: :eyes:
