Anigozanthos

Windows can be very mysterious sometimes. Several months ago I'd bought a cheap USB hub off ebay as I'd gradually filled up the connectors on my PC. It worked for a bit, but then suddenly stopped working. Every time I plugged it in, Windows would say "Unrecognized device". All my other USB devices worked, and the hub would work on other PCs.

I decided to try a second hub, and bought an off-the-shelf model from a local computer store (much more expensive compared to ebay!). That had the same problem. Unrecognized by my PC, fine on others.

After much searching and trying of various suggestions, I gave up trying to get it working, but still searched on-and-off.

Finally, today, I was idly searching again and bumped into http://www.infdump.com/inffiles/U/USB.INF . I thought I'd compare it to my own copy to see if there were any problems - and there were. I didn't have that file at all!

So I saved that file into C:\Windows\Inf with all my other USB inf files and rebooted. Yay! Working USB hubs!

I have no idea what happened to my original file!!??
