I spent today working and interacting with this guy who has all these problems with his life: his job, girl-friend etc. I began to think about American life. I sadly realized that our country here is shallow...really sadly shallow. I wrote about it in one of my online gigs. (Check my links if you want to read about it). This guy was talking about how the solution for his girlfriend was to go make money...loads of money...so he can quit his job. "What would you do if she doesn't", I asked: "leave her", he replied.

Wow....

That's really sad.
"It's all about the Benjamins". That's what this guy always says.

I've asked him over and over why he can't see her value for what she is to him.
It's becoming readily apparent that "she" could be anyone.

That's creepy to me.

Really creepy.

So, he continues I guess to pursue the almighty dollar as our economy fails...makes me wonder what it will lead to for him.

So, there it is:

our society has gotten to the point where that's all a relationship is about....well..other than sex.

So here I am; at the Apple store checking out the latest and greatest in the Apple computer world when I waltz up to a sales lady and ask: " So, does _______ come with the new macs?" She looks at me all glazed over and says that she doesn't know. She then proceeds to go and ask another sales person who doesn't know. Finally after 30 minutes somebody in the store knows if it is. No, it is bought separately. Arg! I am at this point stewing over it. Then I go back to the first sales lady and inform her that I got my answer. Then she asks me what the answer was so she can tell the next person that asks. I look at her and in my very best lilt reply: "you'll have to give me your salary to get that". Wink
