wedding, school, work, Camera
...
So I only have one class this semester, French. I go to school at 1:00 and come home at 2:30. I have Media Arts, too, but it's on my own time now. I'm getting an SLR soon, like in two weeks. It's a toss-up between a Canon Rebel, XT or XTi, dunno yet, or the Nikon D60, or the Olympus E-510 or E-410. I know the Nikon is the best out of the lot but it's also the most expensive. I might settle for one of the Olympus' because I can get a really good deal on it with two lenses so I have more options. I am also photographing a wedding in June. I've been making lots of money, so work's good. Gonna get a bunch of accessories for my new camera, too. Maybe a new external flash, a softscreen or softbox, and if I get the Olympus I can get a cable release, too. Lots of stuff to make the wedding photos better. In July I might be going home to England, probably just for a month or two. I might be going with my best friend, or we might just meet up there coz she might end up going earlier or later than me. It should be fun. My grad is soon, as well. I have my dress, it's red, and my shoes and my bag, which are black, and my mum is probably doing my hair, I'll probably get it braided. I completely cheaped out on grad to save for my SLR instead.
That makes me a true photographer.
Anyway I'll be going now... for another several months knowing me, lol.

boring, life, work, photography
So... it's sure been a while since I last posted. I guess I got wrapped up in life. Back in school of course, grade 12, last year, graduating and all that, how exciting... School is actually really boring. I only have three classes in each semester. This semester it's English, Media Arts 12 (aka filmography), and Psychology. All three classes are repetitive, boring, easy, and homework-less. I shouldn't be complaining but I don't enjoy being bored or having nothing to do. But I do have my eyes on a lad at school...
Work has been good lately, though. I've been doing photography for the Vancouver Museum. I had a lot of work for them in August and September. I also still do work for the South Burnaby Neighbourhood House and of course freelancing. I earned some money doing some freelance portraits in the summer, actually. Check out my sexy new picture on the right there. I'm loving it. I also get more photos in October for graduation, me in the fancy robe and me with some of my hobbies or whatever... Anyway stuff's good I guess, still alive and kicking. Partied and got drunk a lot in the summer, too, just thought I'd add that. I just love vodka. I had my cousin over from Ireland as well, he's the same age as me, and we had a bit of a party one Friday night and I drank about half a bottle of straight 40% Polar Ice vodka. It was good. So I'll be going now, I must watch the CSI: Las Vegas season 8 premiere. That's the only show I turn the television on for... and don't forget about my wonderful website.

work, Camera, New, photography
Well I gots me the Olympus SP-510UZ on the 6th and it's pretty damn sweet. It boasts 7.1MP and a 10x optical zoom. But then they decided to bring out a new one a couple days after I bought mine, the SP550, with 18x wide angle optical zoom plus optical (hardware) image stabilisation. So since my mum works at Future Shop I'll probably upgrade to that one at no cost. Also got a Soligor M8100 tripod. I used it to take some sweet macro photos of a tulip and some other type of flower. You see the flower to the left there. These were my birthday presents, my 17th birthday was on 27 February. Now I'm looking for some more photography work.

life, friends, Camera
Science World was a blast.
I really hope I can work there again for Spring and/or Summer. I made the stupidest deal in the world the other day. But it was worth it. I was begging my friend not to go to a stupid party
and said I'd do anything. Now, I'm not the happiest person in the world, just a little quick tempered and easily irked. So she blurted out, "Even be happy for the rest of your life?" And for want of her not going, I exclaimed, "Yes! Yes, I can be happy!" And thus I now need to be very happy all the time.
But at least she didn't go to the party, and is coming to my house instead. But the deal turned out to be pointless five minutes later when her friend with whom she was to go to the party called to cancel. And then the next day, today, the day of the party, she got called in to work. But had her friend not cancelled and had her work not called and had I not made that deal, who knows what could have happened? I don't regret it...
In other news, I didn't get a camera for Christmas because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. But now I have finally decided and my mummy and I are going shopping this weekend to check out the Olympus SP-510. A compact/P&S that looks a little more like an SLR, minus some of the bulkiness. Very sweet.
I've been trying to update my website for work, www.anndi.net in case you didn't know, but my HTML programs aren't working for me.
Maybe later, when I restart my computer. I also got a new cellphone, the Sony Ericsson K510. And a day after I got it, they brought out the much cooler K790.
Now I have to wait a year on my Fido plan to get the K790 for free. But then I got caller display, after begging my dad for it for months, and that made me happy because caller display is a very simple yet appealing feature. Anyway, that's all folks.

life, work, school
So my mates and I went to Science World. It's definitely better when you're little, but it wasn't bad. I haven't really had any photography work lately. I'm getting my new Olympus Stylus 720 for Christmas.
But in exactly one week, at 3pm on Saturday 16 December I have an interview at Science World for a 9-5 job through the whole Christmas break.
I'll start on 23 December, get a few days off for Christmas, and work until around 8 January. It should be fun. If that goes well, I might also work there for Spring break and Summer break in 2007. My report card came and I had straight A's, but my Social Studies mark was close. 86%, which is the lowest percentage for an A. I've always done much better in Social Studies. Although in Spanish I have 100%. No joke. And I still have 100% for the next report card. Who cares if I speak Spanish at home? So does this other boy, who is getting 76%. My straight A's prevail. Anywho, I'm painting wooden picture frames that I made for a few mates for Christmas. I'm putting their favourite photo of mine in it and painting it their favourite colour and writing their name on it. I also made each of them a styrofoam/pom-pom/toothpick snowman. They're so cute. I made the snowmen look like them.
Other than that, life's been pretty shitty.
See the guy in the photo? I have a crush on him.
But I'm dead pissed with him at the moment.
That's all for now, folks.

work, photography, school
See what I mean about forgetting about my blog?
Oh well, school's been back in for about five weeks, which means our first reporting period is coming up. I'm a straight A student, but I don't want a report card this term. I feel like I've done poorly, even though I have no idea where my grades are at. I've had very little work lately. My last job was really crappy. I barely got any good photos, and there were competative photographers present. I started to dislike work that day. I'm not going to pursue a career in photography anymore. I've decided I'll either be a translator, which was my plan from day one, or I'll be someone who works in schools with special needs children. That job appeals to me. I was going to be a doctor, I think I'd be good at that, but I'm too lazy to spend years on end at University. If all else fails, I'll work at Ikea all my life and maybe by the end of it I'll own a chain of Ikea stores... That would be fun...
Anyways, it's thanksgiving, so happy thanksgiving to you pilgrims who celebrate it. I don't. My life kinda sucks at the moment. Got a bit of Spanish homework, a bit of French homework, both due tomorrow. Got a lot of Skittles to eat. They're on sale, okay. Forty cents for a bag of Skittles. I'm in heaven. Anywho, I'll be off. Just posted to let the seemingly non-existent community know I'm still in the land of the living. Almost sadly.

work, Job, photography, school
...

Been getting a bit more work lately. It's fun. And I'm hanging with mates on Friday at... SCIENCE WORLD!!!

The ten-year-old in me shines through... Last week they kicked me out of the gym because they thought I was ten.

Seriously. Anyways, had work today, have work tomorrow, got work on the 29th. Fun, fun, fun. Oh! And I'm finally putting my ad up at the barn, so I'll hopefully get some
paid work there soon! And I'm back to school on September 5th. Fun? Maybe. I have a photography course, and guess what I get to do all day in that class... take photos!

Anywho, that's the scoop. Tootles.

Windows
Phew, I got Windows back. Now I can update my website and submit photos once again!

Website, Portfolio, Internet, Photos
...
Oh my goodness, I'm dying. Windows on my PC crashed and won't boot so I have to use Linux, which sucks. And so then I was using my laptop to browse the Internet using Windows so that I could edit and update my website. But suddenly, the Internet on my laptop stopped working. And I've tried everything to get it going again, bought a new wireless cardbus and everything, but to no avail. I am now Windows-Internet-less. And sad. Because it makes it so difficult to submit photos to my online portfolio and I can't even access my online portfolio on Linux because it's so buggered that it can't open webpages containing -'s. And it is impossible for me to submit images to my website, or to edit anything on my website at the moment, because Linux doesn't have an FTP program or anything and it's so frustrating trying to install stuff on this piece of crap. And of course, my laptop is Internet-less. And my website's calendar is stuck in July until I get something fixed. So needless to say, I'm not very happy now. And I haven't even been getting work lately. Not even BBQ's. AHHHHHHH!
LINUX SUCKS
