Okay, Okay, a Blog

Well I'm a budding photographer, 16, still in school, gots me a crappy PAS Nikon CoolPix. I'm originally from England, but my lovely parents are making me stay here until I'm 18.
Been doing some really boring volunteer photography work for some random people. Mainly taking pictures of unwilling 7-year-olds eating hotdogs and ice cream. But hey, it's a start. I'm looking to start getting paid taking photos of people and their horses at the local equestrian centre in Burnaby. My friend works there.
I want to get my hands on the new shock-proof Olympus camera, since I'm rough with my cameras and they don't seem to last long. I'm thinking I might get it this Christmas. I also desperately want a tripod, so Christmas will be like heaven for me this year. Those are the only two things I want.
I've been into photography for... About three years now. Got into it while I was living in Spain in 2003. There was really nothing better to do in Spain. Now it's become a real passion for me, more than just a hobby. I take photography classes in school and want to go back to England to do some sixth-form photography classes after I graduate. These stupid new school portfolios that the BC gov't has implemented for graduation really ticked me off until I realised I could sign almost a quarter of it off with some good ol' photography. But I know that photography is a hard career to make it in, so I'll obviously get another job or jobs... I desperately want to work at Ikea. Don't ask, it's just an obsession I have. Living alone in a small flat while working at Ikea until I become a rich photographer is a dream life for me. I was thinking about going into linguistics, translation work. It's still a possibility since I speak so many languages, but it sounds like a more monotonous career.
Anywho, that's my life so far. I have work almost every Wednesday taking photos at these community BBQs in Burnaby... Boring, but it's getting me hours and experience. I'll use my blog to update if I get any other work, or how stuff is going.
