She looked at the Hourglass
back at the face of her - soul twin
with sorrow she said goodbye, for now
telling him to find her down the road
saying I'm sorry, but this is my chance

She took her place and viewed the life ahead
engulfed with visions of family and friends
a path surrounded by love, laughter, and life

Nearing the end of her lessons to come
the shadows fell upon her
and she suddenly became afraid
seeing the terror of a challenges she would face
knowing not how to conquer it she cried
begging to go back, pleading for help

She could see above, the 2 she left behind
tears in her eyes, unable to further her reach
as they stretched out their hands to pull her back
she caved into the darkness as she entered her new world

She began her life exhausted
withdrawn from those who loved her most
afraid of what she suddenly couldn't remember
the face of evil to come destroy her

She trusted only 1
the one she came to save - protect - lift higher
until the baptism of her Soul
where she found her guardian for life
her heart opened, her Soul freed
looking into the eyes closest to heavens light
she smiled for the first time
