Aprilsnow 四月雪 4. August 2008, 05:20

MASTERTRAN 4. August 2008, 09:45

Wim 12. January 2009, 11:36

Vernon L. Townsend 10. March 2009, 13:04

This is awesome..He can live in my backyard~

Aprilsnow 四月雪 8. April 2009, 05:43

Yes, guys. it's also called golden pheasant, the same bird. Keeping it in a backyard??? I can't imagine it. By the way, Japanese national bird is a green pheasant. Thanks for your comments.

Vernon L. Townsend 8. April 2009, 09:45

I have a very large wooded backyard, he would be free to fly..come and go as wished..
I would never, ever caged something as lovely as this~

Aprilsnow 四月雪 9. April 2009, 23:28

Good to know, are you living in countryside? It's hard to find a large wooded backyard in a city these days, isn't it? Wish I have a garden... :left:

Vernon L. Townsend 10. April 2009, 02:30

Yes, I live in the countryside..thousands and thousands of acre of woodland surrounds my location.
If you look at the pictures on my opera photos you will see this..
I agree, in most cities, it would be nearly impossible.
Yes, a garden, which I am dying to see more of as Spring arrives quickly.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 16. April 2009, 06:27

Yes, I saw your albums, very much about walking in nature, it's great! Hope your garden will be flowering soon.

Vernon L. Townsend 16. April 2009, 10:46

Thank you for your visit..It's already starting to "green up" here and, by the month of May, it should be oh so fresh~! I love the Spring Time of the year with all of it's rain fresh smell, the sound of peepers, the song birds singing, the bursting of fresh green leaves`

Aprilsnow 四月雪 18. April 2009, 08:36

Spring is coming, one can smell it, it's full of life, I hike once a week at least to check out my trees and little animals... thanks for sharing.

Norfrid 6. September 2009, 07:41

The pheasants in my country looks gray compared to the Chinese ones. Beautiful birds!

Aprilsnow 四月雪 7. September 2009, 05:42

Thanks! There are different colors. Japanese pheasants are green.

Vernon L. Townsend 7. September 2009, 14:32

If only it were possible to have one near by..

Aprilsnow 四月雪 8. September 2009, 05:44

Still want to keep one in your backyard? :D

Vernon L. Townsend 8. September 2009, 23:06

I do but, then I say no..it's best if it were "natural" in it's living. The problem with that is...there's too many people who think that because they saw it..it gives them the right to either control it as their own or worse, kill it for the "joy" ?? So, Yea I would love to be able to see them on "chance" in the wild and, not in a cage..:D

Aprilsnow 四月雪 9. September 2009, 05:53

That's right! Caring for animals are very important! We want them to be free!

Deb Platt 10. September 2009, 02:16

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

I am unfamiliar with this pheasant, but it is extraordinary. Photographing it against this snowy background makes his beautiful colors leap out of the photo.

Vernon L. Townsend 11. September 2009, 02:11

I couldn't agree more..
Both the subject matter and, setting was a perfect match~!
