It was an interesting day, I had a long relaxing hike. I haven't done it for at least a month.
The Sun finally showed her smiling face briefly after hiding away for a few days. The air was filled with renewed freshness, I felt I could smell spring.
I was surrounded by rolling green hills - The big trees could never be greener grown above sea of tender grasses thriving after winter rain fall.
On my way up, I stopped and enjoyed watching four beautiful birds dotting for food on a big tree chuck. They are identical, heads are pure red, bodies black and white. I wonder what's their name.
Soon after I resumed walking, three big Blue Jays suddenly showed up chasing one another in front of my eyes, and the fourth one, a female, joined in. They must be happy singing in this early spring time!
Nature is beautiful and wonderful. It never failed to give me a sense of peace and serenity. I embrace it with my whole heart. It always reminds me that my life is more than work and daily routines.
Have you ever wondered what you want to be in your next life? Buddhism says, your next life is determined by the deeds of your current life. We human beings are of no more or no less value than other nature beings. We are merely part of the nature. So treat every beings with care and respect as treat your own life because you don't know your next life will be a tree, a bird or a dear.
I cherish my life. I would love to live as a human again in my next life in this infinitely interesting and complex, yet sometimes unbearable world. But if I can't, I would be happy to be a tree.
Ha, I almost forgot to tell you. I also saw three young dear on my way back, very lovely. And tonight, I will sleep like a baby after a long hike, I know.
