Why Attacking Libya? 为什么对利比亚狂轰滥炸?

, , ,

Naked Imperialism

Libya is the richest country in north Africa, GDP Per Capita $13000, economic disparity is very small, virtually no gap, there are no homeless people. Libya has good social security system for its citizens, people enjoy free medical care and education. In addition, the government subsidize food, sugar, tea and other necessities. Most families have cars, in cities no big bus, vans with a dozen seats and rental cars are used for public transportation. In Libya, home phone services/calls are completely free, cell phone call charges also very low, its cell phone communication coverage exceeds 103%, very often people carry two cell phones.

Before the war, Libyan government was actively improving housing conditions for its people. In the capital city Tripoli and the second largest city Benghazi, tens of thousands of new houses were under construction as affordable housing funded by the government, new couples and those who newly set up a family can apply, people met the conditions can obtain the housing with very low, symbolic payment.

The Libyans are well-fed, living a well-off secured life till the US-NATO led war. Their state-owned oil fields will be privatized and controlled by the barbaric imperialist countries. No doubt, lives of Libyan people have been tuned upside down.

No one believe the attack of Libya is for "democracy", "human rights" and "freedom" or "protecting civilian lives" after the Iraq war, then what's the war really about? People often thought US controlling oil is for consumption, no, it's to maintain the flawed dollar system because oil is the very foundation to support it. Maybe the next few videos can give us some ideas: 1) Libya wants gold for oil. 2) Oil-field fight and more.

More than half of the rebels are consisted of the same people the US-NATO are fighting against in Afghanistan (the rest are tribal people), it's inconceivable. Those "rebels" actually wanted to stop fighting a few weeks ago but the NATO forced them to fight, not only so, look who else is on the ground now.

The UN resolution only authorized to protect civilians, supplying weapons to arm the "rebels" to fight a tribal war is totally against the humanitarian cause, as Putin pointed out Who give the NATO right to bomb civilian facilities? What they are doing is like a crusade.

Shame on China for not casting a veto vote at UN!

美国怎样从金融/经济危机中解救自己? 借钱 + 印钱! 最终将输出并引起全球通货膨胀, 而中国两万亿外汇储备也将为此大幅贬值。 bigeyes

I just watched this video. It seems the American way of getting out of economic recession is through borrowing and printing?! eek And central banks around the world are throwing money into the financial system as well, will we eventually face hyperinflation? Millions of French are on the street protesting nation wide, Californians are protesting in San Francisco, over 20 millions of Chinese migrant workers lost their jobs and are also on the verge to smash windows. How is your country doing? Is your government freely distributing taxpayers' money to the wealthy bankers? rolleyes

钱学森 The Father of China's Rocketry

, , , ...

.

He is 96 years old, and China is celebrating his birthday today. His name is Tsien Hsue-shen (钱学森). Even today he is recognized as one of the top 10 influential space thinkers in the world. He designed the precursor of today's space shuttle -- a 1950’s/1960’s delta winged spaceplane that was the ancestor of the space shuttle, in 1949. His fundamental theoretical work on this concept lead to him being called the ‘Father of the Dyna-soar’.

Tsien was born in China in 1911 into an intellectual family. After graduating from college he went to study at MIT, later moved to Caltech, he obtained his PH.D in only three years, and was considered unusually gifted even among Caltech's stellar student body. In 1943, he and two others in the Caltech rocketry group drafted the first document using the name Jet Propulsion Laboratory - the pioneers of JPL. His knowledge of rocketry was adopted by the US army and they sent him and Theodore von Kármán to occupied Germany to interview enemy rocket scientists. During the Second World War, he participated in the "Manhattan Project". He dedicated and contributed greatly to America.

Despite these, Tsien became ensnared and an ultimate victim in McCarthy's Communist witch-hunts. He was put in prison, Caltech President flew to Washington to defend him and took him back to Caltech, yet he was put in house arrest by the US government, for 5 years. As a dignified scientist, he was traumatized and humiliated, he eventually went back(being deported) to China in 1955, along with his wife and their two American-born children.

Once in China, he single-handedly created the Chinese space programme: his work led to China's first intercontinental ballistic missile, and eventually to the rocket that sent the first Chinese astronaut into orbit. He is well respected as the father of Chinese rocketry. In 1979, Tsien was awarded Caltech's Distinguished Alumni Award, an award that one must go to the school to claim, Tsien didn't go, 22 years later Caltech brought the award to him in Beijing. Tsien has fond memory of Caltech especially JPL and his friends there but he never set his foot in America again, he said, unless the US government apologize to him.

Here is a story from Dr. Frank Marble, Caltech’s Hayman Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Professor of Jet Propulsion, Emeritus. There is also a book "Thread of the Silkworm" by Iris Chang.
