西藏历史 Testimony of Tibet History

, , , ...

Dose your government recognize Tibet as an independent nation? Are there any country in the world recognizing Tibet as an independent nation? Why no mainstream media ask such basic, fundamental, legitimate questions? The fact is that no country, zero, none, in the world recognize Tibet as a nation. Why?

BRIEF SUMMARY:

Tibet is located in southwest China. The ancestors of the Tibetan race was linked with the Hans in the Central Plains long before the Christian era. Later on, over a long period of time, the numerous tribes scattered on the Tibet Plateau became unified to form the present Tibetan race. By China's Tang Dynasty (618-907), the Tibetans and Hans had, through marriage between royal families and meetings leading to alliances, cemented political and kinship ties of unity and political friendship and formed close economic and cultural relations, laying a solid foundation for the ultimate founding of a unified nation. In Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the statue of the Tang Princess Wen Cheng, who married the Tubo tsampo, king of Tibet, in 641, is still enshrined and worshiped in the Potala Palace. The Tang-Tubo Alliance Monument marking the meeting for this purpose between Tang and Tubo erected in 823 still stands in the square in front of the Jokhang Monastery (大昭寺). The monument inscription reads in part, "The two sovereigns, uncle and nephew, having come to agreement that their territories be united as one, have signed this alliance of great peace to last for eternity! May God and humanity bear witness thereto so that it may be praised from generation to generation."

In the mid-13th century, Tibet was officially incorporated into the territory of China's Yuan Dynasty. Since then, although China experienced several dynastic changes, Tibet has remained under the jurisdiction of the central government of China. The Tang-Tubo Peace Pledge
This ancient Chinese painting from Tang Dynasty showed the scene of envoys sent by Tibetan King asking Tang Emperor to grant a marriage to Chinese Princess Wenchen.

Here is a general review of the political history of Tibet since it was incorporated into China, a clip I found on youtube, it's hard to summarize everything in a few minutes and my view differs at some points from this clip, for example, when talking about foreign powers it should include USA, but this clip is the closeast thing that I can find from a non-Chinese source.

A FEW KEY POINTS:

Now let's focus on a few important points that mainstream media failed to inform us or even mislead us. People tend to believe Tibet used to be Shangri La, a heavenly place in the world, is this true? Here is a video clip from National Geography, recording a German expedition in 1930s to Tibet, you can see how Tibet was like at that time:

It said Tibet was equivalent to medieval Europe at the time. In fact, Tibet was in a serfdom system ruled by theocracy, extremely backward. However, no mainstream media today show people such basic historical facts. While some people shout "Free Tibet", do they know the truth is that Tibet became free from slavery only since 1959 after Chinese central government abolished the serfdom system?

今日西藏 For The Love of Tibet

西方媒体在普遍误导西方人,没有讲述一个真实的西藏,这次暴乱的报道更是令人发指...

I was heartbroken when saw the Lhasa Riot recently and even more hurt to see the untruthful reporting from the mainstream media, it's outrageous. CNN has been bombarded by emails and comments from overseas Chinese students, many went out to make Chinese voices heard.

As a Chinese, I know Tibet is very different from what the western media told, people have been misinformed. When I saw people shout "Free Tibet!", I gasped. I wonder they have ever visited Tibet or any part of China, ever read a book about Tibetan history, or even talked to a Chinese or Tibetans living in Tibet, not just those so called Tibetans-in-Exile who (many of them) have never lived in Tibet or China. So, I decide to open this post and welcome anyone to talk about Tibet or China in general, you can ask me any questions, challenge me with any ideas, I know it's a hard topic and I don't know everything but...

Let's start with these beautiful Tibetan songs, here all three singers are Tibetans, they sing in both Tibetan and Chinese (Han) languages, beautiful voices and landscapes, all music were made in China. Tibetans are famous in singing and dancing, everyone in China knows/sings Tibetan songs. The first song is a song for the beautiful landscape and heart of Tibet, the 2nd is a love song and the 3rd one is about the newly completed Tibetan Railway which we call a Road to Heaven. And don't forget to check out this 1995 award winning documentary film "Tibet Diary" at the end (Thanks to the anonymous readers who sent me this link). Enjoy!

I Feel like An Emperor without Cloth on Now

, , ,

I thought I have finished my blog decoration after moving from template theme 7 to theme 8 a couple of days ago, I thought everything was fine, all right until I read my friend Allison's comment on my blog. She saw an all black background on my blog, yes, all black! such that she couldn't read the text directly. She had to highlight the text to read!

Now I felt like an emperor without clothing on!

But on my Firefox and IE 7.0 Browser the text area (not including the sidebar area) background is white! It's supposed to be white.

I have just tried different browsers. Indeed, the text background looks black on my Opera Browser on the same PC and an OLD IE browser on a different PC.

How strange?!

Now I don't know how my blog looks like to other viewers, please let me know what you see, all black? and what kind of browser you use? I need to know before making additional changes.

And I need to figure out which browser I am supposed to use to get the correct view.

Oh, what a mess? :frown: Now i have to take my outdoor time to fix the problem on this sunny warm weekend. Help!

Thank you.

UPDATE: The problem has been solved, thanks for reading.
