落日 Sunset Hiking
Sunday, 6. July 2008, 07:24:56
Sunset in evening hike
The Sun sets quite late in summer time, so I could take an 8 km (160 m high) hike easily in a nearby park in the evening time. The park has many trails, total about 40 km length, the highest point is about 900 m from which one can see a big portion of the city.
I have hiked every trails of the park, met different animals and trees, got to the highest point a number of times. I love to hike in a rainy day because the grass and trees would be greener and there would be fewer people around. I have to say it's a very nice park although I got a bit bored of it by now because it gets too familiar. So I am dreaming, dreaming to go to a national park hiking and camping in a real mountain or forest or go to see an ocean... it's summer time!

Tom Ka Kai or Tom Kha gai.
This was a revelation. I realized that day that there are things in this world that I would appreciate at a point I can't imagine before, but I even didn't know them yet.
"galanga" is the symbol of my thirst of knowledge of unknown (for me) parts of the world.

Please have a look at the small button "View the names of this plant in 49 languages" on the right, I really like to see all those names.
There are a few links to receipes in the page, like the Thom Ka Kai (seems to be a good receipe).
I also really like Korean (Hmmmm : Japche Bap, Kimchi, Bulgogi...

It's funny you got yourself so much into this plant. Why didn't you choose 紅豆蔻 as your Chinese name? That would be fun!
I actually have a Thai cook book it's just that I haven't tried it, lazy. I am not a fan of the stinky Kimchi and Korean stuff in general but I do like Malay food as well as Indian food.

I write it down. Scritch, scriitch scritch. Done !
For 紅豆蔻 : it's strange, this one is translated in "red cardamom" by google and yahoo...
If you don't mind, why did you choose this one instead of 高良薑 ? at dict.cn there's also 高良姜...
Are those two ones ridiculous ? and 紅豆蔻, is it "fun" in a positive or negative sense ?
I'm afraid that if I choose one of those names, chinese will laught and find it ridiculous...
