Aqualion's Daily Blues

"In the beginning was the Rhythm, and the Rhythm was with God, and the Rhythm was God."

With friends like that...

, ,

As some of you already know, my wife and me have moved into new quarters.

About one week after a succesful relocation, the postman came with a parcel. It was a present from a couple of old friends. It contained the item, depicted in the image below. As you can tell, it is now situated outside the frontdoor of our new home.

The message is partly true.

No, it's not funny at all...

:D

On a second thought, I don`t like to think of you as an old man since we are the same age. You can be grumpy though

Allan 6. October 2009, 09:32

Waddayamean partly true? She is lovely - and a lady!

Martin K 6. October 2009, 14:05

I am NOT old and I am NOT grumpy. My stomack is easily upsett which is why it sometimes appears as if I am in a cranky mood. Do you really expect me to keep a smile on my face and a positive attitude towards existence when my stomack feels like an abandonned brewery where sombody forgot to turn of the kettles before they left...

:D

Thanks, anyways...

Allan 6. October 2009, 14:49

I like grumpy

Darko 6. October 2009, 15:41

I knew, you'd say that, Allan.

I feel sorry for you, Darko, since we are the same age. I happen to know that you also have constant pain in body... You also live in Europe. No reason not to feel old and grumpy.

I might be grumpy, but I very rarely get angry. When you express anger in small dozes over a longer period, you don't have to get angry. This I learned at a very young age. I've always been grumpy; I guess I was born grumpy.

I'm even grumpy when I sleep. The sign outside my door speeks the truth.

The Wife writes:

I can wouch for it. He's grumpy..

A gritty, hard-hitting sign.

At least I don't have to pretend that I'm in a good mood, when we have visitors. Even those who are unfortunate enough to not know my state will be warned. I considered painting another message on the back of the mat, just in case I would need it, saying 'There will be blood', but I reconsidered and decided not to. Why bother. The idiots would still knock on the door. I've heard about mats with both 'Get lost!' and 'Sod Off!' on them, and people would still come knocking...

Darko 9. October 2009, 06:33

The "Get lost" would be useful in days I am grumpy but as you`ve said, people would come knocking anyway. Then, I`d just turn off my door bell P:

Edward Piercy 9. October 2009, 10:42

Maybe this sign would work:

DANGER: QUARANTINED
Center For Disease Control

It used to work for Jerzy Kosinski.

Seriously.

Martin K 9. October 2009, 16:46

I had a poster saying 'Disaster Area' on my door when I lived in a dorm house at secondary school. That was also true.

Darko 9. October 2009, 17:07

Martin K 11. October 2009, 13:56

I gotta see that film. As soon as it's out on DVD. Heard so much about it.

Darko 11. October 2009, 16:06

I watched it on dvd and it is also in cinemas here. I recommend it
