Clothes are so last year.

Martin K™Aqualion Tuesday, June 12, 2012 5:17:21 AM

@Aadil

I know, but why be so particular? It's only a poem. Lots of non-hindus wear pajama these days

The huge "OM" image is in Hindi! It's "the Name O God" as understood by Hindus and often used as an icon or symbol for their religion. p .

FlaRin Tuesday, June 12, 2012 11:34:42 AM

it's the cosmic smiley smile

Martin K™Aqualion Tuesday, June 12, 2012 12:28:36 PM

The Scientist is absolutely right. The 'cosmic smiley' is there on purpose. Hindi or not. But, for the record, Aadil, the 'do like Dalai Lama' does not suggest to entirely unite with His Holiness. Not in fact, so to speak. Thus, one being slightly Hindi, does not necessarily interfere with one's perception of the whole picture.

The keyword to understanding the above post is the box in which the pajamas were when the Dali Lama recieved them. As long as your mind stays in this box, it will suffer ignorance.

However, if you free your mind from the confinement of the cardboard garment container, you might be able to solve the riddle this set-up of words represents.

Thanks. I take it, you are referring to the football match. Beating the Dutch, just like that. It's got to count somewhere. We still remember 1992, you know. This time we got you in the first round, so we don't have to deal with you in the finals.yes

Netherlands - Germany. A classic. May the best team win.

Danish team is meeting Portugal. Might get interesting.

Cheers!

PS: In the late nineties, I decided that football wasn't worth wasting time on. Before that I was just as preoccupied with football as most European men (and some women). Something happened around that time that ruined the innocence of the old game. It got really commercial. And now, it's mostly business, isn't it? I do try to keep up with the European Championship. For old time's sake.

Darkogdare Wednesday, June 13, 2012 2:09:41 AM

And I need to get up at 5am, get dressed and go to work awww Days in pajamas are history for me now awww

Bad WolfCois Tuesday, June 19, 2012 9:40:56 AM

that's my day today happy

Martin K™Aqualion Tuesday, June 19, 2012 9:57:32 AM

Life is always business and dealing don't you think???? so cheers yes bigsmile

Actually, I don't believe in competition. The dog-eat-dog concept is not something I encourage. I know, it's common to regard competition as a law of nature that can't be denied. I beg to differ. Competition is a man-made concept. Some would claim that competition is a part of nature herself, and it is true that what we see when looking at nature could be interpreted as competition but that's only because we choose to look at it that way.

The Lion has a point. sherlock

Carlo GrassiniCarloFon Thursday, June 28, 2012 1:57:23 AM

Now what just a minute: the lion is top of the food chain as I see it. Are we talking about competition of community here? confused

Martin K™Aqualion Thursday, June 28, 2012 7:49:33 AM

The Lion is, indeed, top of the food chain. But that is his natural place. He was born that way. So were human kind. However, there seems to be a difference between lions and humans. Humans have what we decide to call "free will". We have options. The lion hasn't. He is King of All Animals, even when he gets fed up with it. He can't drop out. We can. We can choose to not eat meat for one thing. As omnivores we actually have the choice. The lion is a carnivore, his digestive system won't allow him to go vegetarian.

Bottom line: the lion is not on the top because he competed his way to that position. The position was chosen for him even before he was born.

That I am top of the community just because of the nick I have chosen is an entirely different story. I don't have to explain that, since it is obvious. p

Gavin Tripp-Sheedygarlingmatthews Thursday, June 28, 2012 3:50:52 PM

Niche? Sorry.

This is exactly my argument for vegetarianism. p

Carlo GrassiniCarloFon Friday, June 29, 2012 3:58:35 AM

I watch my cat very carefully. Every morning he goes into the yard. Sniffs around the grass. Goes to his favorite corner of the yard and starts eating just the tender tips of the freshly grown grass. A lot of my friends are surprised that a cat eats grass.

He also has no problem ripping the head off a field mouse now and then leaving the head on the floor of wherever in the house he caught his prey and eating the lower parts. I see the head as a little present for me to show what a good hunter he has been during the night hours. Or it is just a warning to me that he is so kind to let me share the house with him.

I know the lions in the wild eat their share of vegetables too. cool

Bad WolfCois Friday, June 29, 2012 6:49:22 AM

well i never saw that episode of animal planet! whistle

Oh and cats and dogs eat grass because they want to either chuck up something they ate or settle their stomach.

Mad Scientist (عادل)qlue Friday, June 29, 2012 9:28:34 AM

but beware the killer wabbits! scared

Pineas2 Friday, June 29, 2012 9:49:09 AM

Were we top of the food chain from the beginning or when we got guns?

We wiped out the mammoths entirely with sticks! scared .
or so the experts tell us! sherlock .
But it seems that tool making is our only major adaptation. without tools we don't even stand a chance again other primates! scared

Martin K™Aqualion Friday, June 29, 2012 4:59:28 PM

The thing is, human beings were never on the top of the foot chain. In the big picture we're just primates, and not even appropriately equipped to defend ourselves, having neither claws nor big teeth. We still aren't. We just found a way to eradicate all dangers from our evironment, including dangerous animals, by building walls around our dwellings and killing the ones that went for our live stock. It's not as much the invention of tools as it is the development of social cooperation, the art of communicating and working together for a greater cause, that defines our success.

A very simple thing that we call 'speech' helped us go that way. Language is without comparison the most powerful invention mankind ever made.
