Introducing MC Jabber

, ,

Went to a preformance show down town yesterday evening, featuring MC Jabber AKA Scott Martingell, former Britsh National Slam Poetry Champion.

We sort of became acquainted after the show due to the fact that he was thirsty, and I have this personal rule about always helping people who are in need, and I just happened to know a quiet place in the neighborhood where they were serving all sorts beverages and didn't cloze until eleven, plus, as it happened, he unfortunately had no kroners on him which is why my empatic personality seemed to be just the right company for him in his hour of need.

I found his preformance both substantial and profound. Of course, I didn't understand a single word, but even so...

Seriously: Events like this support my general notion of poetry not being dead after all.

Enjoy...

And remember: Scott's a professional. Don't do this at home. Don't even try. I've seen people drop to the ground stone dead because they thought they were natural born Speed Rappers.

Ancient History Unveiled III

,

This is a ten kroner note from 1972.

I found it in a box with old photographs and post cards which my father had kept for many years.

I remember that note very clearly, because back in the seventies, I got one of these each week as allowance.

The 1972-series of Danish money notes all have portraits painted by Jens Juel, a famous paniter from around 1700, on the front and a picture of a Danish animal on the back. On the 10'er it was a duck, on the 50'er a fish, on the 100'er a moth, on the 500'er a lizard and on the 1000 kroner note a squirrel.

Of course these animals gave names to the notes.

This is why a squirrel is worth more than a duck in Denmark.

Aqualion Recommends: Inglorious Basterds

,

I strongly recommend you go see this film. Just saw it yesterday, and it's definitly the corneyest film I have ever seen. You have Brad Pitt doing a wild south state General Custer John Wayne american hero act, Mike Myers in a small but hilarious role. You have French being totaly French, Germans being totaly German, Brits being totaly Brits and Americans being totaly Americans. All klichés and stereotypes are featured and a lot of blood and explosions too.

We likes.

Rock Opera Gungadin - Main Theme

, ,

After having worked some months on this post rock opera thing, I have decided to add som more grandeur to the setup. Until now, I have only worked with rock-, pop- and electronica-elements, but now it is time to add brass, strings, grand piano, choir vocals and such. After all, it is supposed to be an opera.

So, this is the main theme or The Theatrical Overture, as I call it. Choose you best headset, because this is epic and large.

Ancient History Unveiled

,

As mentioned in a prior post, my dad died recently.

My sister, brother and me have been going through his belongings the last couple of weeks. In some old cardboard boxes we found a vast archives of old photographs and stuff.

I know I am a bit too late.

Many of my Opera Friends have been talking about the seventies for quite some time now, and the kid avatar picture fashion is now partly outdated, but nevertheless, I find it appropriate to bring you some of these old pictures from a time long lost.

The first one is of the class of 1975, Ny Nørup Centralskole.

There's a small price for anybody who can find me in the picture...

Family Situation Update

,

Last monday, I lost my father.

Some weeks ago he started coughing, and the coughing developed into a severe pneunomia. He was given antibiotics, but for some reason or the other it didn't really do the trick. They put him in the hospital where they gave him a large doze of the drug and drained water from his lungs. It still didn't work. Eventually he just stopped living.

He will be missed.

Not much more to say about that.
