Aqualion's Daily Blues

"In the beginning was the Rhythm, and the Rhythm was with God, and the Rhythm was God."

Post Rock Opera 'Gungadin', The Wake

, ,

Upon the death of his beloved father, young Gilbert Ounce finds himself in a state of sorrow and depression. Being the youngest of four children, Gilbert has always been Little Brother, looked upon as fragile and weak, and ever since his early childhood he has sought and found refuge in a World of his own created and maintained by his vivid and sometimes extremely powerfull imagination. The death of his father has smashed in the doors to this fantasy World, and left them wide open. Afraid and confused, Gilbert is taking his first step into the dangerous world of the living.

This blues describes the emotional state, Gilbert passes through at the wake after the burrial of his father. The guitars symbolize the flucture between sorrow and anger.

Featuring the voice of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 - 1948).

Post Rock Opera 'Gungadin', Gilbert's Theme

,

This is next step in the making of the announced post rock opera. The theme is supposed to bring forth an understanding of the main character of the story, young Gilbert Ounce, a troubled youth struggling with the conventions of his culture in his quest to require fame and succes in the world of showbusiness.

The tune describes in musical terms the bipolar condition of Gilbert's personality.

Enjoy, if you do.

New! Postrock Opera Under Construction!

,

By request, I have decided to compose a rock opera. This is a 'teaser' featuring the overture of the epic story of 'Gungadin'. Only music by now, but more will come. Enjoy...

Sculpture By The Sea

,

My good friend Allan recently posted a thing on the exebition Sculpture By The Sea.

Sunday morning I went to see what it was all about.

Here are some pictures I took.

It was great fun.

Art can be quite entertaining.

Intermission

Due to much ado, I will not be posting anything for the next two weeks. After this brief intermission, I shall be back with more. Have a nice summer.

Update *01

Just Made a New Song (Instrumental)

, , ,

Hi, again.

As I have told you before, I now have in my possesion a small music maker programme. You can actually make your own music, just like that, without having instruments or anything. A little basic knowledge of music theory is in fact all you need.

This song, I call 'Apples', because apples are always an inspiration.

Enjoy, if you will.

Disturbing Coincidence

, ,

As some of the Daily Blues subscribers as well as regular visitors may know, I have an injury in my left knee, in short the anterior cruciate ligament has snapped and the remains have been removed a few years back after a road accident.

Thursday morning I went to the hospital for an examination which was to decide whether or not surgery was relevant. I was in fact scheduled for fiber optic probing.

Fortunately, the doctor soon established, by just jolting my leg a little around, that static cycling, training and strengthening exercises will be enough to prevent the need for complex surgery. To put it simple, I just need to go through a rerun of the recovery-training I did in the six months after the accident.

I was very relieved, to say the least.

This morning I went through the commercial advertisements I found in my mail-box, and discovered a slightly disturbing connection between two otherwise unrelated items in a hardware catalogue.

Seems like the price of a stationary bicycle and a wheel-chair is the same.

Makes you wonder...

More Danish Music (New!)

Here's the recent top single from Denmarks biggest rock/pop band right now Nephew. Their fourth album 'Danmnark/Denmark' is out next week.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing their live-performance a few times over the years, and they rock. Their mixture of minimalistic hard rock and 80s-style electro has sort of created a trend in Danish music, and everybody on the scene use oldschool analogue synth equipment these days.

The lyrics are quite interesting. Abstract expressionism, switching between English and Danish and sometimes German. Not many boy meets girl themes here. It's deep, dark and very Scandinavian.

Enjoy '007 Is Also Gonna Die'. It's on constant rotation on almost all Danish radio stations right now, but I grant you with the opportunity to switch it off and move on if you hate it.

PS: Switch on the HD-function if you can. Both visuals and audial improves a lot.
