Millenium Forest

, ,

These are some pictures I took today when my wife and me were on a hike in The Millenium Forest, a couple of miles from where I live. The area is called The Millenium Forest, because it was planted in 1988 when our city Odense had 1000 years anniversary.

In autumn nature shows all her colours. Awesome...

The Wife writes:

who's name is Ann-Charlotte, by the way ;) Thank you, Darko, the pic you liked was the only one I took.. ;)

Which is why I put it on the top, dear. It's my favorite as well.

Mrs. Aqualion, I like to move my palm over a tree bark. It makes me feel "closer" to a tree :D

Millenium Forest? Tusindårsskoven? Der er lidt Peter Plys over det. Smukt.

Millenium Forest is designed to look like a typical forest side anno 988, same composition of sorts of threes and plants, paths for both horse wagons fare and horse only, combined with big planes of fields and one artificial yet very original looking traditional Viking fortress in the middle - which is by the way just a huge hill with a flat top.

Picturesque is, I believe, the right word.

I make "a contact" with it :D

Do you think they feel our touch?

Edward Piercy 30. October 2009, 23:12

I love trees. I wish they were intelligent, sentient beings so that I could talk with them.

Come to think of it I do talk with them -- but it's rather a one-sided conversation.

"Something calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why.
Those gentle voices I hear explain it all with a sigh."

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."

Robert Frost, 1923

Thanks for stopping by and leaving some pictures, Jax. I like the latter one best, since my basic respons to phaenomenons taking place in the World around me is a yawn. Unless, of course, there is food involved. By the way, the Lion in my nick comes from the fact that my middle name is Leon, which is French for Lion, as I'm sure you know. So, I really am a Lion.

Kitty 26. November 2009, 11:53

Let's hear you roar! p:

Martin K 26. November 2009, 13:44

I'd rather not. Gives me a sore throat something terrible, and nobody listens anyway.

Jaxs 26. November 2009, 15:26

I will keep that in mind.

Glad you like the yawning lion.

You are welcomed
