Gentlemanship and closeness seem not to co-exist. The fallacy is inherent in them. One off incidents can potentially spark discontent and closeness has plenty of them. To be a gentleman presupposes a guard against every single one of them. Hence it is humanly not possible to be a gentleman and to be close at the same time.
