Dr. Panda's Voice

Srnvantu sarve amrtasya putrah(Let all the sons of immortality listen).

Say yes when you mean yes.

We face a lot of common and ordinary problems which are made out to be too big but actually are not and which requires only simple solutions. How?----

There was a king. He wanted to learn English. He worked hard for it. His tutors also worked day and night to teach him the language. He almost mastered it, but he had one problem. He tended to say 'yes' instead of 'no' and 'no' instead of 'yes'. He worked on it and took more than a year to use the right word in the right place.
Then the king started a tour of his kingdom. He talked to the learned. To his dismay everybody responded to whatever he asked with 'yeah'. Remembering the effort he had made to learn the word 'yes', he now got angry with anybody saying 'yeah'. He passed an order that saying 'yeah' was punishable by law.
Thereafter everyone started saying only 'no' to whatever the king asked. When asked if she liked him, the queen said 'no', people said 'no' when asked if the king should live long, and so on. This drove him mad.
Everyone was worried. The Prime minister consulted a wise hermit, who promised to set things right.
One day the hermit came to see the king. The king asked him if he had anything to say. The hermit said in his own language, 'ji hujur'(Yes sir). The king had no way to be angry. He said,'You are clever. But you don't know English'. The hermit said,'No, I don't know, but never think I know not when I say no. Not that I mean 'no' when I say no.'
The king got confused. But felt it funny. But to defeat the hermit he thought of a question to which the hermit would not be able to say 'no'. He asked,'Are you a fool like me?' The hermit promptly replied,'Yes, of course. A thousand times yes I would say. Now do you have your answer?' The king thought for a moment and not to be outdone, said,'Yeah'.
