Once again I've decided to optimize Opera wallpapers for Android devices and, as always, you can get them from
DeviantART. Click on Download button on the right side. Wallpapers are packed into
7zip archive.
Wallpapers are for the following screen resolutions:
* 480x800 (Nexus, Desire, Liquid, etc)
* 480x854 (Droid and other hi-end Motorolas)
* 320x480 (Hero, c, etc)
* 240x320 (Tatoo, Wildfire, etc)
Enjoy!

There's
a post with the same title on
OSNews discussing HTML + JS + CSS performance versus Flash 10.1 beta. Khm... I find strange that people think that HTML5 is somehow a magic performance booster!
The problem with Flash about performance is not Flash in itself, but lame "web-masters" who create buggy resource hungry banners, flooding all of da intarwebz with them and bringing our PCs down on their knees. And HTML5 will not fix that in any way. The only global solution to performance issues all over the web is to build big ovens all over the world and burn brain-damaged web-devs alive.

Burnout Paradise is a great multiplayer game available both for PCs and game consoles linking these two worlds together. One of the issues in modern crossplatform game development is hardware platform differences resulting in uneven performance.
Eurogamer has an article on
how did the guys from Criterion Games solve this issue.

Just found an article with funny title on
Smashing Magazine and it is called
Why Web Developers Don’t Need A Mac (: Actually this one is not so about Mac vs PC, instead it is focused on software which will be useful for webdevelopers and which is available for Windows platform only. The fight starts only at the end of article (:

IBM developerWorks has an
introductionary article on Android development which I do recommend to everyone interested in development for Android mobile platform. Article gives overall platform introduction, brief history, then focuses on application architecture, SDK and tools and finishes with simple example application with source code available for download. I hope more Android development articles will come soon to IBM developerWorks.

I'm writting a lot about web-development lately (: So, once again I will write about good tool for web-dev... Khm... Web-designers this time, actually (: And not only for web-designers, but many graphic artists collaborating with each other and/or their clients.
The Commentor is a collaboration tool meant to connect designers, photographers, other visual artists and their clients. The main feature is advanced commenting on graphical images, so basically team can mark problematic spots right on image. Sometimes it is very hard to understand what that big fat rich guy wants from you. The Commentor gives him a tool to mark that left corner on the right bottom side of topmost button and leave a comment. Now you understand what he is talking about (: A must-have tool for freelancers!
P.S. By the way, don't be scared by word "trial" on site - most of functionality is free!

I stated my opinion on browser speeds already, yet many people still create benchmarks (: Well, I have nothing against them if they like to create benchmarks. So let me introduce
Peacekeeper! A brand new benchmark from
Futuremark gurus who are responsible for 3DMark and others. The good thing about Peacekeeper is that it looks nice and funny, so you should at least look at it (:

If you ever tried to use non-standard fonts in your web-design, then you know the problem - these font just does not work. Yep, there are several solutions: web fonts are IE only, sIFR requres Flash to be installed on user's PC and so on. But recently I have found a new JavaScript only solution called
Cufón. It uses Canvas/SVG/VML depending on which browser is used to render text. Enjoy!
