A bit of technology

I want to write some articles on Android usability and my thoughts on UI improvements. Being an active Android user and a fan I see some inefficiencies every day. I hope Google guys will find my articles and implement some of my suggestions. I think that that will improve overall user experience with Android platform.

Today I will start with Android Market. It is one of the most important Android features for me — I use it everyday to search, install and update lots of useful apps and games. Improving it will benefit both users and app developers.

If you have any comments and/or suggestions — feel free to leave a comment. I would also appreciate spreading the word about my articles — that will show how user interface and experience are important to both users and app developers and may influence Google decisions. I do really want Android to become even better and I hope you want it too.

ZDNet is talking about Windows 8 clues which are starting to emerge all over the internet. Hey, ain't that too early? Windows 7 is not yet retailed! But people love to talk and Microsoft loves to promote Windows (:

ZDNet gives a lot of links to different articles and blog posts, which give us clues about what to expect from Windows 8 from both client and server sides including new filesystem features and improvements in hibernate functionality.

Yesterday was a party at FreeDOS camp because this project hit 15 year margin. It is very mature now (: Here's the official announcement and here's an article at OSNews on the matter. Congratulations!

There are a lot of talk about Linux and its readiness for desktop usage. So much, that some people did even state, that there are no such thing as a "desktop usage" (: Anyway, a lot of silly stuff is said and written on a matter, but, thanks to OSNews I've found an article which details what is wrong with Linux on desktops without any nonsense which is a basis of most such articles. Enjoy this reading!

Samsung finally decided to launch Android-based smart-phone and it will be called I7500. Name is not so fancy as in HTC devices, but at least it will be Android-based (:

Sounds cool? Indeed! The only thing I miss from current Android devices is 800x480 screen resolution. Come on guys, who needs small iPhone-like screen nowadays?
