ZDNet is talking about Windows 8 clues which are starting to emerge all over the internet. Hey, ain't that too early? Windows 7 is not yet retailed! But people love to talk and Microsoft loves to promote Windows (:

ZDNet gives a lot of links to different articles and blog posts, which give us clues about what to expect from Windows 8 from both client and server sides including new filesystem features and improvements in hibernate functionality.

Google will launch its own operating system for netbook market. A tiny OS will be used only as a Chrome launcher/container, so cloud/web-applications is a way to go on netbooks powered by Google. We were waiting for Google OS for quite a time...

There are a lot of talk about Linux and its readiness for desktop usage. So much, that some people did even state, that there are no such thing as a "desktop usage" (: Anyway, a lot of silly stuff is said and written on a matter, but, thanks to OSNews I've found an article which details what is wrong with Linux on desktops without any nonsense which is a basis of most such articles. New ReactOS version is released! Memory requirements were lowered, memory management was made faster and efficient, overall perfrormance improved and new features added. It is good to see that these guys still doing their best to open-source Windows (:

Android phone by Samsung - I7500

Samsung finally decided to launch Android-based smart-phone and it will be called I7500. Name is not so fancy as in HTC devices, but at least it will be Android-based (:

Sounds cool? Indeed! The only thing I miss from current Android devices is 800x480 screen resolution. Come on guys, who needs small iPhone-like screen nowadays?

Windows 7 Release Candidate is coming!

It is confirmed that Windows 7 RC will be out on May 5 and MSDN subscribers will get it a bit earlier - on April 30. But impatient ones may already start their torrents and search for a leaked release (: Yes, it can be found in a wild!

Another W7 piece is that Microsoft will make Windows XP SP3 environment available as a free download for Windows 7 which will run in a transparent emulator allowing to run old software which is not compatible with Vista/W7. I really hope that this feature will cause removing a lot of legacy overbloat from new Windows codebase. Basically that means that W7 will be fast OS and you can forget about "resource hog" nickname. At last! But it is too early to praise Microsoft - their PR/marketing guys may spoil everything...
