development, widgets, games, opera
Hi guys! I would like to tell ya that I'm currently making two games in Opera Widget format. One of them will be multiplayer (hot seat + internet) and that's very cool! Actually I did not see any online multiplayer games in widget format yet. Can not yet tell release dates because I need to write server-side code and I did not start it yet, but I hope for a week or two. Stay tuned!

browsers, software, widgets, opera
...
As I stated in
Opera Forums currently I'm making special library which will make widgets cross-platform. Currently I have version
0.1-ALPHA which is capable of rendering simple widgets from
Yahoo! Widget Engine. Actually, it only supports
YWE's
window and
image tags yet without any scripting. But I'm looked into
YWE's scripting and found it relatively easy portable. Library will be released to public at
0.1-BETA and I think this will be done very soon.
And how it works? Very simple! You take
Yahoo! widget of your interest, extract it somwhere (it is simple
ZIP-file. Widgets for
Opera are also simple
ZIP-files!), then you put
config.xml into unpacked folder root (see
Opera's tutorial for it), put
index.html and my library -
ywe.js. If you now open
config.xml in
Opera 9 my script will try to handle
Yahoo!'s widget.
index.html should look like this:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>YWE Test</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="ywe.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

opera, widgets, bjustb, software
...
I've found a way to search for unapproved widgets (: And this is very helpful! You need URL like this:
http://my.opera.com/community/customize/widgets/author/?id=Aux
And it will show all my widgets. You can change my highlighted nick to someone's else.
Also in the news my newest widget -
BjustB 0.1. This is just a preview version. I've released it soon because some people really need it (: Here's a description:
Widget for helping users to deal with BB-codes on different forums and/or blogs.
