Wimbledon Is Here

I don't arrange things to be this way. There is no planning nor is there any skiving. But every year around this time I find myself with less work than usual. Without even taking a holiday! I know it's always this time of year, because I always get to watch loads of Wimbledon. I love tennis, and there's no finer tournament than Wimbledon. If only a Brit could win it. Just once in my lifetime! C'mon Andy!

Bathrooms

Personally I think bathrooms should be every bit as luxurious as a living room. It is in fact the one place of my home that I can get some assured alone time to relax and forget about the stress of the working day. It's also a room that gets quite some wear and tear, so when I upgrade, re-do or otherwise work on anything in my bathroom, I'm only interested in quality fittings.

One of the best places I have found online to purchase bathroom related products is Fairfield Bathrooms Direct. They have a huge range of products to choose from including cabinets, lighting, taps, bathroom accessories and of course baths themselves. And so much more. Everything in fact. And even though the products they sell are top end items, their prices are still highly competitive and affordable.

Safe In Mexico?

I'm still getting asked this question. Mexico has been a popular holiday destination for decades, but this year it seems like numbers might be down. All because of Fox News and the like. Look peeps, providing you're coming here for a holiday and not to run drugs, Mexico is as safe as it has ever been.

Be A High Roller!

Do you like to throw a few dice or play a few hands at a card table? With a little money down, just to make things fun?! I think most of us enjoy the excitement of a casino now and again at least, whether a real casino or a virtual online casino. My tip for the day is to check out LuckyLiveCasino.com, as they celebrate St Patrick's Day in style. don't you fancy giving their LuckyLiveCasino Roulette a spin? Sure you do! They'll be giving away some iPod nanos as well as first deposit bonuses worth up to 100 Euros, or even more if you are a high roller putting 300 Euros in.

Ramsey's Hot Stew

I really like Gordon Ramsey. Yes, he's the rudest man on TV, as arrogant as a Frenchman and can be a trifle annoying...but his TV shows do make entertaining viewing! He recently got two Michelin stars for his first restaurant in France...the first Brit to achieve such a feat, and it takes his Michelin tally to 12. But....

For more than a decade it has proved to be an extremely successful recipe: take one fiery Scottish chef, fold in 11 big-name restaurants and several million pounds and the result is a concoction that has turned Gordon Ramsay into a globally recognised brand. But yesterday it emerged that the formula may not be quite as lucrative as it once was for the chef, who appears to be having trouble with a different sort of F-word - his finances. According to accounts filed yesterday, his main company, Gordon Ramsay Holdings, has breached its banking covenants - promises made to lenders to secure a loan. Ramsay and his chief executive Chris Hutcheson, who is also his father-in-law, have had to promise to help the company pay its debts if necessary.

So all is not well! How amazing that someone so fastidious in the kitchen can be so tardy in the office!

The Geeks To The Rescue

I'm considering going over to a self hosted blog, using Wordpress. But if there has been one thing putting me off it's not knowing who I should (and maybe who I shouldn't!) be hosting my blog with. I want the security, assurance and peace of mind that comes with owning my own bit of the internet and not relying on a normal blog host.

Now I think I've found the place that can solve my problems! There is a site that specialises in informing the average web user all about web hosting, and it's called webhostinggeeks.com. They have a web hosting blog too to add advice and up to date info to their reviews and recommendations regarding the many web hosts and offers that are on the market.

Rescue 911 Mexico

This is a very funny, if short video, that's been doing the rounds on YouTube! But it's a shame that Mexico seems to have the sort of reputation that leads people to associate this sort of incident with the country. Really there is excellent health care available in the country, but just like north of the border, you want to make sure you have decent insurance coverage. Or maybe you really will slide off the back of a pick up....!

Sandisk USB Security

I do an awful lot of my business on the move, going from one place to the next, carrying what I need with me. I don't take a laptop with me these days, because there is always a computer I can use at my destination. And I have a USB flash drive, onto which I have all my business and personal data saved. It really has made my life so much easier since I decided to take this approach to transporting my data a couple of years ago.

But last year, I managed to lose my UsB drive. Where? I don't know. How has it now? Again, I don't know. And that was worrying. In fact it sent me into a panic. I had all my client data on there, some of it very confidential. I also had a lot of personal data on there, including a portable browser with all my usernames and passwords saved into it. I was forced to rush home, change all my passwords and then, much to my embarrassment, contact my clients to inform them of the lost data so that they too could take action.

Laptops traditionally are far easier to secure than USB drives, but thanks to Sandisk Enterprises new security features, and the Cruzer McAfee Antivirus USB, that is much less of a worry than ever before. Featuring 256 bit encryption and McAfee antivirus and malware protection, data can be stored on the USB drive safe in the knowledge that it can't be accessed in the event of its loss or theft. I wish I had had one last year. But at least now I have the opportunity to secure my data and use my drive with total peace of mind. Particularly as it is a USB drive with Antivirus , so my browsing time is protected too.

Living In Fear

A question I am regularly asked - is Mexico really dangerous to live in? Well, there are dangers for sure. If you are a drug dealer or a policeman in the northern border area, then it's really dangerous. Otherwise, down in the south and central parts of the country, the answer is no. The real answer is to stop reading trashy newspapers. I even had one person telling me recently that they weren't going to visit London in the UK because of knife crime. Again the papers are so full of doom and gloom. London is one of the safest major cities in the world to visit, or even live in.

There's just far too much read into far too much that is written, most of which is poorly thought out. Don't be afraid. Visit Mexico. It's a hospitable beautiful country.
