Red Shell - A Poem to Our Western Friends

When We were called Sick man of Asia, We were called The Peril.
When We are billed to be the next Superpower, We are called The threat.

When We were closed our doors, You smuggled Drugs to Open Markets.
When We Embrace Freed Trade, You blame us for Taking away your jobs.

When We were falling apart, You marched in your troops and wanted your "fair share".
When We were putting the broken peices together again, "Free Tibet" you screamed, "it was an invasion!"
( When Woodrow Wilson Couldn't give back Birth Place of Confucius back to Us,
But He did bought a ticket for the Famine Relief Ball for us.)

So, We Tried Communism, You hated us for being Communists
When We embrace Capitalism, You hate us for being Capitalist.

When We have a Billion People, you said we were destroying the planet.
When We are tried limited our numbers, you said It was human rights abuse.

When We were Poor, You think we are dogs.
When We Loan you cash, You blame us for your debts.

When We build our industries, You called us Polluters.
When we sell you goods, You blame us for global warming.

When We buy oil, You called that exploitation and Genocide.
When You fight for oil, You called that Liberation.

When We were lost in Chaos and rampage, You wanted Rules of Law for us.
When We uphold law and order against Violence, You called that Violating
  Human Rights.

When We were silent, You said you want us to have Free Speech.
When We were silent no more, You say we were Brainwashed-Xenophoics.

Why do you hate us so much? We asked.
"No," You Answered, "We don't hate You."

  We don't Hate You either,
  But Do you understand us?

"Of course We do," You said,
"We have AFP, CNN and BBCs..."

What do you really want from us?
  Think Hard first, then Answer...

Because you only get so many chances,
Enough is Enough, Enough Hypocrisy for this one world.

We want One World, One Dream, And Peace On Earth.
  - This Big Blue Earth is Big Enough for all of Us.

Quite right, sadly. If we're not the centre of the world then we have to try and kick off whoever is and that is China right now. Great Britain had a turn, then the US and now it's China's turn and I'm fine with that.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 16. April 2008, 21:35

When was Tibet part of China?

Thought-provoking poem and disturbing.

I see what the college is teaching you concerning the rest of the world, concisely and clearly.

It is fine to love your country; pollution is happening there and products coming from China have been tainted with poisons; that says to me that your country wants to kill everyone else not Chinese and/or doesn't really care about the rest of the world, only wants to make a buck.

China can close its borders if it has so much of a problem with the rest of the world, did so before.

Really, I wish the USA wouls close its borders to the rest of the world, too, too many of the citizens care about too much of the world and just get kicked in the teeth for it, soldiers get killed, taxes are crazy...

Dear Momable,
I believe that our disagreement is very big here.. I only hope that people will investigate before they comment on something they're unfamiliar with.
Who actually went to Tibet before they say Chinese government is supressing Tibetian people?
Who even know what their lives were like before PRC was founded?
Who even care to have a look at different sources other than CNN before they say Chinese people are a branch of violent fools?
I only hope our disagreement won't harm our friendship.
But one thing is certain, I'm a Chinese first, then your friend.
Regards, your Chinese friend, Timm.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 17. April 2008, 03:18

Dear Timm,

Well, I know the free Tibet movement is quite old. They protest here every year on a certain date. With the Olympics, their message has been picked up by the media and the protests have picked up. Most of the citizenry of the USA never heard of Tibet before now. You know, when people can get on TV, a lot of people join the band wagon and a lot of celebrities want to show their faces and show they so care about others (so go watch their movies, so don't hate them because they are rich and famous because they do good, etc.) Richard Gere is a Buddist and has been a Free-Tibeter for a long time; he I believe.

Really, I don't know much about Tibet other than the Dalai Lama goes about here in the US. He was recently at Purdue. He goes around talking, and he wants Tibet free, of course.

What I have seen of Tibet is from the Discovery Channel. Very mountainous. Concerned with lack of religious freedom.

I have never read or heard anyone say Chinese people are a bunch of violent fools. Where did you read or hear this? If I thought this, I wouldn't have any correspondence with you or any other Chinese people. I wouldn't watch all the neat movies.

Oh, my husband's ancestor is a very tall Chinese person. He settled in Greece and changed his name to a Greek one. So, my children and husband have a bit of China in them. My mom and dad's families were not so much into ancestory for me to comment on my blood -- although, my eyes are almond-shaped, not round.

If I felt your country was a threat, I certainly would not allow my son to go there this summer. He wants to where a "One China" shirt  because he is all excited about the government having invited their school's marching band!

I have no idea when Tibet came into being, when it became part of China
or anything like that. My question to you was, when did this happen? When did the land become Tibet, was it China before then? When did Tibet become part of modern-day China?

I do know that products from China that were for children were found to have poisons in them and one was found to have a hallucinagenic drug in it. This is bad! So, these certain businesspeople were concerned only with making money and used faulty ingredients in products they knew were going to be shipped out of China and they didn't care! It is good the government killed them!

I do know that pollution is dangerous in China since companies don't have filters to trap the poisons in place; and as a result, a lot of fish from China was found to be unedible and taken out of stores.

Are you cars emmission tested for air pollution? I have my van in the shop because it was old and didn't pass and needed a new filter.

A lot of people have adopted Chinese children here in the States; if people truly felt as badly as you think they do about China as referred to in your poem, I don't think that would happen.

Where did you get your information from?

Is China still a Communist country or is it a Capitolist one? Is there a Chairman?

I really am not up-to-date politically on your country.

Actually, I love the Chinese cinema, Jackie Chan, Hong Kong, history -- (History Channel had a great show about ancient Chinese oil rigs and other machines), dinosaurs, fossils, natural beauty and martial arts.

I think you are a fine, young person. It is right and proper to stick up for your country!!!

Yes, we are still friends. Oh, I don't watch CNN

Blessings and Peace,

Elly

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 17. April 2008, 05:09

Dear Elly,
I try to answer you sentence by sentence.

===>Well, I know the free Tibet movement is quite old.
Ever since Lalai Lama lost his power as ruler of Tibet. Although in my limited time now I can't give you a link concerning this, I will give you evidence of his suppression and cruelty to Tibetan people.

====>They protest here every year on a certain date. With the Olympics, their message has been picked up by the media and the protests have picked up. Most of the citizenry of the USA never heard of Tibet before now.
See? Now Dalai Lama found this opportunity to be very good - he used western people's ignorance of facts in Tibetan, says "there's no religious freedom". Why did he claim so? What does he want? He wants to become ruler of Tibet again to "make it religious free". But did anyone think about what would happen if he does? Hundreds of thousands of people will have so- called "religious freedom" and will have no money to buy their next meal! It’s not in my power to make every US citizen to get to know Tibet fully, but my uncle had been to Tibet and he has the evidence that Tibetan people live as happily as we are now. They have freedom in every possible way, they can believe whatever they want, they have jobs, they have houses, they have children, and they have EVERYTHING. If Dalai Lama gains power, all of this will be lost in exchange of his reign disguised as "religious freedom".

======>You know, when people can get on TV, a lot of people join the band wagon and a lot of celebrities want to show their faces and show they so care about others (so go watch their movies, so don't hate them because they are rich and famous because they do good, etc.) Richard Gere is a Buddist and has been a Free-Tibeter for a long time; he I believe.
Only one comment. Have he ever been to Tibet?
No evidence, No rights to speak.

====>Really, I don't know much about Tibet other than the Dalai Lama goes about here in the US. He was recently at Purdue. He goes around talking, and he wants Tibet free, of course.
He wants it "free". Yeah, free to suffer in his reign. I have evidence to support my sentence here AND I'll show them to you.

=====>What I have seen of Tibet is from the Discovery Channel. Very mountainous. Concerned with lack of religious freedom.
Discovery Channel. To be honest, what I have seen of US is from Discovery Channel and CNN. Very clean, Very beautiful, Heaven for criminals, drug dealers, lying politicians, concerned with lack of freedom of Black people and women.
In China there's nothing called "racial discrimination". WE ARE ALL CHINESE people. We are all EQUAL. Do you know that in China, a boss can't fire a pregnant woman AND has to give her full payment by month for her one-year pregnancy? Do you know that Chinese women are stronger and more influential than Chinese men in many ways? Do you know that in China as long as you do the same work, you'll receive the same pay disregarding your gender? Are such things the case in US?

=====>I have never read or heard anyone say Chinese people are a bunch of violent fools. Where did you read or hear this? If I thought this, I wouldn't have any correspondence with you or any other Chinese people. I wouldn't watch all the neat movies.
Then Go to CNN, I think there's someone called Jack Cafferty in CNN and here's the recording of his speech. http://news.163.com/08/0417/08/49NIEMNU0001124J.html
ignore all Chinese, just look at the video. You can look him up in Youtube. His speech had made all Chinese people angry beyond belief.

Wow... that's so very cute~! Almond-shaped eyes? Never quite seen that here in China! Got to meet you sometime~~

=====>If I felt your country was a threat, I certainly would not allow my son to go there this summer. He wants to where a "One China" shirt because he is all excited about the government having invited their school's marching band!
Welcome!!~~~ if He comes to Shanghai where I attend university, Tell me and I'll contact him~! I will have some little gifts for him!

=========>I have no idea when Tibet came into being, when it became part of China
or anything like that. My question to you was, when did this happen? When did the land become Tibet, was it China before then? When did Tibet become part of modern-day China?
"China" is not a very definite term. It has a long history of 5000 years. but one thing is certain: in every period of the history, Tibet was always a part of "China". when recovered from World War II, China had been broken into pieces by invading Japanese army. In 1951-1952, BanChan signed a peaceful agreement with PRC army and China became one again. the description in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet sounds like Chinese troops "invaded" Tibet; Definitely not. there was almost no military actions at all and the "Tibetan army" is in fact private army of local warlords who made common people suffer. Chinese army freed them; not the other way around.
When Tibet is mentioned, most Chinese people think about an area. "Tibetan people" only has some racism meaning in English; when we say it in Chinese, We mean "people living in Tibet. The concept of race is very distant and insignificant in China; we acknowledge each other as people from different places of same nation, but not "foreign people" at all. This is the fact; everyone who had come to China can see that. If you come, you can see it too.

===>I do know that products from China that were for children were found to have poisons in them and one was found to have a hallucinogenic drug in it. This is bad! So, these certain businesspeople were concerned only with making money and used faulty ingredients in products they knew were going to be shipped out of China and they didn't care! It is good the government killed them!
First of all, these products, if you look up their names, have been produced by foreign invested companies. it is American companies who used the cheap labor in China to produce poisonous products and sell them to US; Chinese workers do not know what they're producing at all, they merely followed the company's orders.
Second of all, Not All products are poisonous.
Thirdly, please note whose concern is only to make money. Chinese workers are only doing their own jobs given by these companies; the products are marked as "made in China", they should add "made by American- invested companies".

======>I do know that pollution is dangerous in China since companies don't have filters to trap the poisons in place; and as a result, a lot of fish from China was found to be unedible and taken out of stores.
Again, please Google them up to see who on earth are polluting China and use the fact against them.

=======>Are your cars emmission tested for air pollution? I have my van in the shop because it was old and didn't pass and needed a new filter.
I do not have my own car, but all my father's cars have passed the tests. The most polluting cars are imported from Japan, US, UK, etc. Chinese cars consume less fuel and pollute less.

=========>A lot of people have adopted Chinese children here in the States; if people truly felt as badly as you think they do about China as referred to in your poem, I don't think that would happen.
Not all western people are against China; Our media are not like western media: we see many happy French people waving Chinese flag in our TV; We see many American people cheering for Olympic torch in San Francisco on our newspaper. Sometimes we want to ask: who is in lack of Freedom of Press?
This poem is merely expressing our feelings to Some western people who don't know the fact and comment cruelly.

========>Where did you get your information from?
Internet, experience in Real word, press of both Western and Chinese, etc.

========>Is China still a Communist country or is it a Capitolist one? Is there a Chairman?
There is no "Communist" country in the world. Communist is just a name; Apart from its name, China Communist Party has nothing to do with that of USSR or Russia. and Yes, there is a Chairman called Hu Jintal. He was elected in 2003 and most Chinese people are satisfied with him. These can all be found online; just Google them up.

=====>I really am not up-to-date politically on your country.
Typical for American people; they have enough difficult things on their own hands. but I just don't know why some people are willing to cry for something they don't know anything about?
=
=======>Actually, I love the Chinese cinema, Jackie Chan, Hong Kong, history -- (History Channel had a great show about ancient Chinese oil rigs and other machines), dinosaurs, fossils, natural beauty and martial arts.

I love them too! I'm a very big fan of Jackie Chan's~~ his action films are my personal favorite apart from "Shaw shank Redemption" and "Schindler's list".

========>I think you are a fine, young person. It is right and proper to stick up for your country!!!

Thank you. and I'm writing this to let people understand a TRUE China better.

===>Yes, we are still friends. Oh, I don't watch CNN
No wonder you didn't know that man... well, you can have a look at http://www.anti-cnn.com , it has many evidence of CNN's false reports about China.

Regards, Timm.

Thanks Timm for the poem, you put it so well, I just want to cry when reading it... there are so much misunderstanding by people in the world, especially about Tibet, sad such that I felt no choice but to explain to people. Will be back ...

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 17. April 2008, 07:28

Oh no, no. This poem isn't written by me- I forwarded it here from a forum...
No hurry. I may need your help finding these evidences concerning what I've said above.
Regards, a man trying to be calm, Timm.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 17. April 2008, 07:53

To Elly and Timm:

The whole Mattel issue was caused by its own flawed design not by Chinese manufacturers, Mattel used old US lead standard to design products, Chinese merely followed its instructions, however, the American media don't report it, instead, painting a picture as if Chinese deliberately poisoning Americans, that's so vicious, so political. How possible Chinese would do such harm to any people? we are human beings with a moral sense.

Here is Mattel's apology to China in its own words, check it out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1YDa3t-z20

The whole crazy "boycott Chinese product" campaign was driven by unions and politicians paid by the unions because many American jobs moved to Asia such as China and India. But why target China alone?

Actually I don't want China to be a world factory which costs us not only sweat labor but precious natural resources, more importantly, generates pollutions and demoralizes our society. We paid bloody prices, Americans have been enjoying many years of low priced products and low inflations, American corporations made tons of money, yet, Americans hate Chinese. Is it fair? If it's not because of the greediness of multi-billion dollar corporations, you won't lose jobs, jobs won't come to China. Why not blaming the corporations? Why US government allowed them to transfer jobs? They are the culprits, not Chinese.

I very much hope your son and may be you too, will come to visit China and see China in your own eyes.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 17. April 2008, 08:36

When did Tibet become part of China?

Tibet officially became part of China in 13th century after Mongols conquered China, established Yuan Dynasty and incorporated Tibet into Chinese territory. Mongols then adapted Chinese culture and became assimilated, eventually became Chinese. Since then Tibet has always been under the jurisdiction of Chinese central government despite many dynasty changes and twists.

China became a Republic in 1911 which marked the beginning of modern China era, here is a Map of Reublic of China (1911-1949), that's before communist led government took power in 1949, as you can see, Tibet was right there on the map.

The current Dalai Lama is the 14th Dalai Lama, his title was actually approved by central government of Republic of China. We still keep the historical documents to prove it.

By the way, check out this US made film clip to see what US said when China was an ally in WWII.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 17. April 2008, 21:09

Thanks, Timm and April for your answers.

As concerning the manufacturing of goods in China, the problems with poisons and drugs in the items came as a result of someone switching to another medium that was similar to but not the ingredient expressly written down in the formulas to make whatever the things were; since this switch was added, when mixed with other components, poison or a drug resulted. This is what I learned, Timm. The Mattel lead thing, that was another instance where Mattel goofed up.

It is interesting reading what they are teaching you in school.

I don't think Richard Gere has been allowed in China or Tibet; if I recall correctly the closest he got to Tibet was India and talking to Buddist there. He would love to go to Tibet.

Timm, do you know about all the politics of the whole world? You said it is "typical of Americans"; that is a bit insulting. It is a little harsh to say Americans don't care about the whole world. It is very difficult to keep track of the whole world. There are cadres of people who specialize in their knowledge of certain parts of the world, as I am sure there are where you live. Does every Chinese person know about the whole world? Does every Chinese people know about politics in the USA? Right now there is a lot going on with the Presidential elections coming up.

I've never seen a boycott on Chinese goods -- some people may get into the news yelling about that, but has it happened? Not to my knowledge.

As to pay, most people don't get to see what other people are actually paid. It is considered rude to even ask a fellow worker for this info. Women will always be complaining that they want money equal to men, some women make more than men, it is all individual since companies decide what to pay for what and it is up to the businesses. Some women will always be complaining about everything. Let's face it, different people have different abilities, men or women.

So in China there are set pay scales for certain jobs? That is neat. Everybody equal. There are no labor unions?

Here, big businesses must have a quota of "minorities"; which is funny because some minorities aren't a minority any more. This gets people mad because at times minorities are selected for a job where they aren't as qualified as other candidates; but then again, how do these other candidates know this, the interviews are private. Sometimes whistle-blowers show the paperwork to everyone.

Prices here in America aren't cheep! It is because of Ronald Reagan that American manufacturing was parcelled out to the rest of the world; his administration wanted America to be a country which buys and receives stuff and have the rest of the world which needed jobs making the stuff; it was their feeling that this would help the world catch up with everyone else.

I want all the companies back here in the USA, too, April, now that pollution control is running well, and people need jobs. Many places here are ready to be retooled with modern machinery. Also, Reagan's plans haven't worked out since the foreign countries doing business with American businesses are mad at the USA, like you say above.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 18. April 2008, 06:31

Hey, I have a question. The boy and the one who found him, the first boy who was officially recognized as the Pancha Lama; and then the Chinese government said no, and appointed someone else the Pancha Lama and placed the first boy and the one who found him under arrest -- the boy was only six!

Were these people ever released?

I also notice, Timm, you call the Dalai Lama's Tibet "his country", not "China's country of Tibet".

Just want you to know, that I do know things about China; however, I wanted to hear from you, since I didn't want to be accused of reading propoganda and knowing you don't agree with Wikipedia... I guess what I am saying is that one really can't categorize what one person says is a bit and another person's opinion of the amount.

I really am upset about this Pancha Lama! Six years' old, chosen by some old dude, and then imprisoned! Six!!!!!!

Eliane a/k/a Elly 18. April 2008, 06:35

Here is a recent new article I found:

Tibet was a small Asian country right next to Nepal and to the southwest of China. It had half of Mount Everest within its borders. Tibet was mainly a Buddhist nation that was ruled spiritually and politically by the Dalai Lama. Few people could visit the country because it was so isolated by the Himalayan Mountains. Because of this, the technology in this nation had stayed the same for thousands of years. This isolation in many ways helped the Tibetans keep to their simple and humble ways of living. This simple way of life was shattered by the Chinese invasion, occupation, and oppression of the Tibetan people. The United States, being a world superpower, should pressure the Chinese government as well as move to free the Tibetan people.
In the 1950s, the Chinese had moved their military forces to invade the small country of Tibet. After many failed negotiations and the kidnapping and replacement of the Pancha Lama, leader of Tibet second only to the Dali Lama, the Chinese, in 1959, marched into the capital of Tibet, Lhasa. They then declared sovereignty over Tibet (Riskin). China's invasion was reasserting an outdated territorial claim based on al 13th century arrangement of political convenience between Tibetan rulers and the Mongol conquerors of China (Lowe 2). Most historians agree that Tibet was an independent nation (Riskin). Nine years after the initial invasion, the Chinese put down an uprising with the death of 87,000 Tibetan lives (Leckie 1). These were Tibetan citizens with muskets, arrows, and, three machine guns. This small group of Tibetans were against the modern Chinese army that had outfitted every soldier with automatic firearms. After the invasion, the 14th Dalai Lama, the spiritual and political leader of Tibet, fled into exile (Lowe 3). He was the leader of 6.2 million people. He was still a boy at the time of the invasion. Following the complete take over of Tibet, the Chinese organized most of Tibet into the Tibet Autonomous Region, TAR. Other parts of Tibet were added to neighboring Chinese provinces. Then they introduced their Communist reforms into the Tibetan culture (Tibet & Tibetan Buddhism). Many Tibetans regard the Chinese rule as years of repression and ecological destruction (Leckie 1). All of this information has only just been made possible by the reopening of Tibet to the press and tourists. Only recently did the media go into Tibet and talk to the people about this dramatic change in the world that should be common knowledge. These press reports have proved that the Tibetan people are not happy and want an independent and free Tibet. After these reports were released and the Chinese government found them, the foreign press was expelled. I don't know about you, but that looks like they don't want the rest of the world to know what they are doing to the Tibetan people. Soon after the press was expelled, new restrictions were placed upon tourism. For example, the Chinese airline CAAC canceled its weekly flight from Lhasa to Katmandu. This flight is the only international flight out of Tibet. Since the invasion of Tibet, the native Tibetans have revolted against the occupation about 50 times. The most recent 51st revolt finally made the front pages of American newspapers for almost a week. As far as I am concerned, every single one of those revolts should have been in newspapers all over the world, including America. Two weeks after the 51st revolt, truckloads of Chinese MPs with AK47 assault rifles and machine guns, swept through Lhasa. This is a perfect example of the intimidation tactics of the Chinese government to strip the Tibetans of what freedoms they have left (Fournier).

Excuse me, Elly,

Please provide the source of your articles about Tibet, I don't think you are reading the real history. Your article started by saying Tibet is a small country which is absolutely UNTRUE. That discredit your article immediately.

The fact is that NO country in the world recognize Tibet as a country or nation including USA. Check out what your government said again:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWnRl16H1mY&feature=related

Unless you can show me US government recognizes Tibet as a nation, then everything you posted about Tibet is not taken seriously. Please show me historical documents or maps to back up what you said.

Once again, have a good look at this map, it clearly showed Tibet is part of China.

Thanks.

As concerning the manufacturing of goods in China, the problems with poisons and drugs in the items came as a result of someone switching to another medium that was similar to but not the ingredient expressly written down in the formulas to make whatever the things were; since this switch was added, when mixed with other components, poison or a drug resulted.

So who is "someone"? Is it Chinese? Please clarify. If it's not Chinese, then how can Americans blame Chinese? If we say that "someone" is you, and you deliberately tried to kill us without evidence, wouldn't you go to court to sue? How come when it comes to Chinese, then it's OK? How come Americans including American media could be so irresponsible? It has been a pattern again and again. What CNN recently said was even racist! Check out what CNN said, isn't it a shame?

I read economic news and reports all the time, American consumer price has gone up only recently, but for a long time, many years, it had been very stable and low (except food), that's all due to Chinese imports. For example, ask yourself for the last 10 years how much the price of a pair of shoes has gone up? In fact, it probably had gone down, that's all due to the benefit of Chinese products. How can Americans blame Chinese for everything you are not happy with?

Richard Gere knows nothing about the real history of Tibet, yet he is helping Dalai Lama who used to be slave owner in old Tibet and now intends to split Tibet from Chinese territory, of course Chinese government would ban him. Richard Gere is just a brainless Hollywood star, why doesn't he protest the human rights abuse of American troops? Why doesn't he protest the illegal Iraq War? Why doesn't he mind his own country's business instead of picking China all the time? It's such hypocrisy.

Do you have any idea how Tibet was under Dalai Lama's rule? It was a serfdom system, slavery, 95% of the population were illiterate, lived as serfs or slaves like this:

So "Free Tibet" from what? It was Chinese central government that freed Tibetans from slavery in 1959.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 18. April 2008, 21:43

The source is Fournier, see, on the bottom. It says Tibet "was" a small country.

The formula was changed by the Chinese manufacturing company to save money by buying a similar ingredient. China said the person who did this was killed by Chinese officials.

[insert:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tibet-claims.jpg]

Richard Gere is a practicing Buddist, so he is sticking up for his religion and religious leader.

The Dalai Lama won the Noble Peace Prize, I don't think they would give that to a slave owner or serf owner. From my research on this subject, I humbly disagree with your stand.

Haven't the business ventures in China helped give jobs? Isn't that good for you and us? I think so. You guys buy the goods, too.

There are people who live in the ancient ways in Alaska, Siberia, the Sinai Desert, and they dress as the above photo and live very simply and are happy.

Wikipedia says: "Tibet proclaimed its independence from China in 1911 on the eve of the fall of the Qing dynasty and the subsequent internal turmoil.

Tibet remained a de-facto independent state until shortly after the conclusion of the Chinese civil war, when on October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was formally proclaimed in Beijing and the following year launched an armed invasion of Tibet.[3] The Chinese army of 40,000 men routed the unprepared defending Tibetan army of only 5,000 near the city of Chamdo. The defeat subsequently led to the signing of the Seventeen point agreement by the Tibetan Government."

So, Tibet has been an on-again, off-again part of China.

During the 7th to 11th Centuries, Tibet was really big and included the Mongol Empire!

Tibet, well, they lost their war to China and are now a part of China. Their government in exile will continue to tell their story.
The Buddists and Tibetians all over the world will continue to protest and gather people to their cause.

I don't think that the Tibetians in exile would be so voiciferous if they were slaves and serfs...

Am going to your links now.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 18. April 2008, 21:49

Hey, China is still an Ally of the USA, or else there would be no businesses allowed to be there and people would not be allowed to visit there and no orphans would be allowed to be adopted from there.

That is a really old film.

I am currently researching how many countries say Tibet is officially recognized; they do recognize the Dalai Lama, though.

You do know, popular opinion is worth more in the media these days than what countries officially say; in evidence is how these protests are covered in the news. Popular opinion may result in changes in governmental opinion. That is democracy and freedom in action.

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 19. April 2008, 03:12

Dear Elly and April,
Not that I don't want to participate; It's a matter of pride and dignity of the Chinese people. It's that... I feel very sad because of the deep prejudice and discrimination between Eastern people and Western people.
Only one way to solve this now, I believe, Elly. If you have time and money, you can very easily apply for a visa into China. Goto Tibet freely and have a look yourself. You may ask the people there Who is causing disturb and Who make them suffer.
I'm going to US myself this summer; I'm applying visa now. Really, A visa to US for a Chinese citizen is MUCH harder to apply than a visa to China for a US citizen.
Regards, a sad man, Timm.

1. Please give us a LINK of Fournier to show us you are not reading from political organization. This is important in order to have a fair discussion.

2. "The formula was changed by the Chinese manufacturing company to save money by buying a similar ingredient. China said the person who did this was killed by Chinese officials." - Elly

Once again, I need you to provide a LINK that shows you are reading form credible source, one can't just say "It says Chinese government killed that person" without evidence. Using credible sources is basic, otherwise our discussion will be meaningless.

3. "Haven't the business ventures in China helped give jobs? Isn't that good for you and us? I think so. You guys buy the goods, too." - Elly

Yes, do you expect we Chinese only live and produce for Americans? Let me give you a simple calculation: For a $10 Barbi doll sold in your stores, Chinese only get $1 back which includes costs of labor, material, and environmental damage, the net profit was less than 10 cents, yet the other $9 profit all go to your multi-billion dollar corporations and you get cheap Barbi. We know this is totally unfair and China is moving away from trade-dependent economy, so don't worry, sooner or later, someone else will come and take your jobs away as long as your corporations are greedy.

4. Sure, America is still an Ally of China, then why screaming "China threat" all the time, smearing Chinese non-stop?

5. "You do know, popular opinion is worth more in the media these days than what countries officially say; in evidence is how these protests are covered in the news. Popular opinion may result in changes in governmental opinion. That is democracy and freedom in action." - Elly

Sorry, as a new generation Chinese, I am educated to respect nothing but facts, I don't just depend on opinions, especially wrongly informed opinions. I clearly know how biased American media is in reporting Tibet, they are misleading people just like they misled people to go to Iraq War. Who would be the ultimate victims then? Your government spent billions of dollars each week on war. Do they show you how violent the so called "peaceful Tibetan protest" was? Check it out yourself:

6. But I am glad that more and more people are standing up to tell the truth:

Aprilsnow 四月雪 19. April 2008, 07:38

About Tibet:

8. Please note that the small piece of map from your link doesn't show Tibet was or is a nation, it doesn't show the entire boarder, in fact, if you trace the boarder line you will find Tibet is part of China right there on the map. This so called Tibet map is only a part of a China map, claimed by the so called Tibetan-in-Exile group as Tibet map, quite pathetic, this is why they dare NOT to show the whole thing. Please show us complete maps, not bits and pieces. The wikipedia called it "Tibet claim", this is a subtle disinformation, the truth is it was claimed by the so called Tibetan-in-exile groups, not Tibetans in Tibet.

As a matter of fact, on the same page you provided, there are two links leading to the complete map which both showed Tibet is part of China! Have a good look:

http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/asia_ref04.jpg

So far, you haven't been able to provide us a valid Tibet map that showed Tibet was or is a nation. The American film I showed you earlier clearly said Tibet was part of China, yet, you said it was old, so are you implying your government has changed its stand on Chinese territory? If so, please provide me with document to back up. As a matter of fact, here is a China map from your government current website, have a good look, Tibet is right there on China map, and it also said Tibetans are one of Chinese ethnic groups:

http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/18902.htm

9. Who are Tibetans-in-exile? The core members of the group are former slave owners (and their descendants now) who left Tibet when Chinese central government abolished serfdom slavery system in 1959. The younger ones speak perfect English, have never set a foot in Tibet or China, do they represent Tibetans? Do they represent Tibet? Absolutely not.

10. Please provide link to the wikipedia text you quoted so I can evaluate its source.

What does "de facto independence" mean when coming to territory sovereignty? It means NOTHING because sovereignty is governed by international laws and UN charters. China was war torn at that time due to foreign invasion, many provinces were controlled by local warlords, Tibet was only one of them, if you term these "de facto independent", then all those provinces could be independent nations? Of course not.

Take Iraq for example, the Kurdish area is self-governed right now when Sunnis and Shias are fighting the bloody war against each other and against Americans after the US invasion, you call it "de facto independent", but can anyone claim the Kurdish area an independent nation? The Kurds there want independence but would UN allow it? or any country recognize it? The answer is NO.

If you say yes, then the Southern States of USA was also in "de facto independent" during the Civil War, does this warrant the south an independent state? Why didn't you honor them? Also, just a few months ago, the native American Lakota Sioux Indians Declare Sovereign Nation Status, independent from USA, why don't your government let it go?

So, please no word games here, territory sovereignty is governed by UN charter and international laws, this is why even your government has to accept Tibet is part of China. Yet, the mainstream media doesn't educate Americans for such basics.

11. Yes, with the support of the British representative, Tibet local government once announced the establishment of a "foreign affairs bureau," and openly carried out "Tibetan independence" activities. These actions were made public and condemned unanimously by the Chinese people. The national government also issued a stern warning. Under this pressure, the Tibetan local government had no choice but to withdraw its decision and reported the change to the national government. The so called "independence" was never approved by Chinese central government and was never recognized by any nation in the world.

12. "The Dalai Lama won the Noble Peace Prize, I don't think they would give that to a slave owner or serf owner. From my research on this subject, I humbly disagree with your stand." - Elly

The most accurate statement is that Dalai Lama was granted Nobel Prize, but the question is who are in the Nobel Peace Prize Committee? Are there any Chinese at all? Ironically, Nobel Peace Prize has been highly political. One should exam historical facts rather than rely on Hollywood stars or Nobel Prize. Now have a look of what old Tibet look like through this short video clip made by National Geography, never forget, Tibet was like in the film all the way till 1959, it was ruled by theocracy under Dalai Lama who was the superior ruler:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMWT6CBaAtQ&eurl

13. "There are people who live in the ancient ways in Alaska, Siberia, the Sinai Desert, and they dress as the above photo and live very simply and are happy." - Elly

The photo I showed in my previous post was not ancient, it was Tibet before 1959 under Dalai Lama's rule. Are you saying Tibetan slaves/serfs in the picture with hands and feet locked begging food were happy? Do you also think the black slaves in your country were happy?

14. "During the 7th to 11th Centuries, Tibet was really big and included the Mongol Empire!" - Elly

Please read the real history, not some political site's disinformation. Everyone knows Genghis Khan's Mongol Empire once was the largest Empire ever on human history expanding from Turkey to Eurosia to East Asia, not the other way around, nobody call it Tibet Empire.

It was when Mongol Empire became fragmented, it left Tibet with China and established Yuan Dynasty as I said earlier, that was in 13th century. As a matter of fact, in the 7th century, Tibetan King came to China asking Chinese Emperor for permission to marry a Chinese Princess, and pledged ""The two sovereigns, uncle and nephew, having come to agreement that their territories be united as one, have signed this alliance of great peace to last for eternity! May God and humanity bear witness thereto so that it may be praised from generation to generation." These words were stone-carved in front of the Jokhang Monastery in Tibet, still standing there right now. This is the princess story:

http://www.wku.edu/~yuanh/China/tales/princesswencheng_b.htm

15. The Map of Republic of China (1911-1949) I showed you last time clearly showed Tibet was part of China, you chose to ignore. Please note, the map was not even made by China, it was an English map, yet you kept saying China invaded Tibet, that's bassless. Look at the following picture, this was Dalai Lama and Pan Chan Lama with Mao Zedong in 1950s after signing a Peace Treaty with the central government, "invading"? Tibet was part of China since ancient time, no invading.

16. "I am currently researching how many countries say Tibet is officially recognized;" - Elly

Yes, please show me how many countries say Tibet is officially recognized, show me official statements/sites. I am waiting right here.

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 19. April 2008, 08:29

Dear April,
You have no idea how deeply I'm moved.
Being confined within the borders of GFW, I can't get that much time to search for so many valuable links...
I'm watching the progress of the current situation. I'm afraid things are steadily spinning out of control somewhere...
Regards, a man praying AND WORKING for a better world, Timm.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 01:50

That poem is from one of your political organizations and/or forums. Timm didn't write it. So, I discredit that; since you said that can be done, April.

Fournier is at:
http://www.helium.com/items/364203-tibet-small-asian-country

Wikipedia is at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet

IF you read the entire Wiki, you will see that the Chinese government has also written part of this article.

The map, also from the above article, I thought, was self-explanatory. It shows disputed territory. Tibet is a disputed territory to China and India and Tibetian-exile groups. China and India currently claim some same areas of Tibet as theirs. You are not reading what I wrote, just looking at a map and commenting.

I don't think you read my response fully, because I do state that Tibet is currently a part of China. If it weren't, no one would be saying to free Tibet.

Tibet was a nation, it was a country, it was a state, it was a semi-autonomous region. That is history and the maps are also in the Wiki article.

China executes executives who break rules:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19686498/

From a Yahoo Business page:

http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/104034/101-Dumbest

During 2007, the Year of the Pig, Mattel is forced to recall almost 20 million items made in China because of lead paint on toy cars and tiny magnets that could be deadly if swallowed. Lead paint problems are also found in 844,000 Chinese-made Barbie accessories and toys with the Sesame Street brand. Pet food makers recall more than 60 million cans of food laced with tainted melamine in wheat gluten from China. A huge underground distribution network for steroids, human growth hormones, and other bodybuilding drugs is traced to 37 companies in China. Chinese-made lunch boxes, given away by the California Department of Public Health to promote healthy eating habits among children, are found to contain lead. Nike recalls 235,000 football helmets because the Chinese-made chin cup has a defective strap and has caused at least two concussions and a broken nose. Ethylene glycol is found in Chinese-made toothpaste. The government of China executes the former head of its State Food and Drug Administration.

All Indian tribes that are recognized in the USA have Sovereign Nation Status and their own reservations, which they govern. This includes the Lakota. They are now disagreeing with all the treaties and agreements that they have had with the USA in order to negotiate new ones. They are recognized and free. If they were not recognized and free, they would not be allowed to go to Washington and do what they are doing. I don't think you are reading articles fully, or are you a foreigner and not understanding? The Lakota are campaigning in Washington for more than what they have now and for us to help them to enforce their claims on treaties -- but wait a minute, they have revoked all treaties, so they want new ones now.

Oh, now before you say anything, tribes that are not recognized are ones where historically all members of a certain tribe have been dead and no descendents ever recorded; and all of a sudden, someone claims to have 1% so-and-so blood and wants to re-establish a tribe on that basis.

Yes, some people in the South still fuss about the Civil War; and some slaves were treated well. Every ethnic group, every peoples on this earth at some time in history were a slave- or oppressed-people by others. This is getting off the subject and irrelevant to our discussion here, even though the USA was founded by oppressed people.

The current Dalai Lama fled Tibet as a child. The Panchan Lama stayed; and when he died, a six-year-old was selected and approved by the Dalai; and then China said, no and appointed their own Panchan and arrested the six-year-old and the fellow who found him.

You haven't answered my question as to what happened to the six-year-old and the fellow who found him. The current Panchan was appointed by the Chinese government! Please answer this question.

Up above I said in another comment "live in ancient ways"; one lives in ancient ways currently, now, in the modern time. You have once again misread what I wrote. Tibet has a reputation for living in ancient ways even currently, which people consider part of its charm.

Many displaced peoples will clamor for their ancient homesteads-countries return to them, free and clear. Look at Israel, they did it for centuries and got their land. It doesn't matter to them that they may have never seen or set foot on such territory, the stories live on through their relatives; and you and I know that some people will never let up on a subject

Aprilsnow 四月雪 20. April 2008, 06:44

Elly, stop spinning or pretending, before we proceed to further discussions, I am sorry to inform you that you have been caught lying.

This is why:

On April 18, 2008, 21:43:46, you said the following:

You didn't provide a link at that time. Under my request, you provided the following link on your last post made on April 20, 2008, 01:50:42:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet

So, I read through this wikipedia page to search for the text you quoted above, I couldn't find it. In order to make sure, I did a text search, the result is "Phrase not found". Again, I tried different phrases and repeated the search several times, the result is the same, no above text was found on the page from your link.

That said that you are dishonest or lying.

You may not know internet technology has made text search extremely easy, we can verify things instantly.

In fact, right from the beginning I knew the text you quoted was disinformation pasted on internet widely by political organizations, and I also knew the Tibet wikipedia page you gave us.

Don't tell me, the text was from some hidden links from the page, that can't be an excuse, because you said "Wikipedia says" and we expect you give us a direct link.

It's really a shame, I didn't expect this at all. Why do you need to do this? You could just say whatever you believe is true and present it, couldn't you?

I gasped, I found you have no integrity, Elly. I very much hope I am wrong so I am waiting for your explanation before any further commenting.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 06:50

Well, that text was there when I copied and pasted it.

I am going to recheck this now.

YOU haven't answered my question about the Panchan Lama. That is all I wanted to know about, really.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 20. April 2008, 06:54

That's not a good explanation. Don't spin away, give us an acceptable explanation why you lied. Integrity is necessary and basic. I can't believe you any more. I had assumed you had integrity, otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much time talking to you.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 06:59

Well, all I can say is that perhaps someone has updated the Tibet page since there is so much controversy about it. It is different from when I last read it because when I last read it there were some paragraphs that stated stuff from the Chinese government.

I am going to recheck my older encyclopedia now.

I DID NOT LIE! I copied and pasted those paragraphs!!!!

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 07:00

You are grasping at straws because you can't or won't answer my question and see I know what I am writing about.

YOu don't know anything about my country.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 07:06

Well, I am going to check to see if Wiki is stored on the way-back machine. If you bothered to check my quotation at the time I posted it, you would have found it in the Wikipedia article.

Wiki is updated, you know!

A lot of information you said was misinformed, you didn't really read what I wrote, and you changed the subject.

I didn't insult you.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 07:15

Okay, definitely things have been changed since April 18, other Tibet pages in Wiki are now frozen from changes and under dispute by people.

You do know this goes on in Wiki?

It was there on that date.

I can't find any info on the Panchan Lama that was imprisoned when he was six. This is way sad. I hope he was released and the person who chose him, too.

A little kid!!!!!

Thanks for the insult.

I am no longer going to converse with you, April.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 07:17

Timm, I didn't lie. The info was there.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 07:22

"A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language[1][2]. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. For example, the collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia is one of the best known wikis.[2] Wikis are used in businesses to provide affordable and effective intranets and for Knowledge Management. Ward Cunningham, developer of the first wiki software, WikiWikiWeb, originally described it as "the simplest online database that could possibly work".[3]

"Wiki Wiki" (/wiːkiː wiːkiː/) is a reduplication of "wiki", a Hawaiian word for "fast". It has been suggested that "wiki" means "What I Know Is". However, this is a backronym.

Dear Elly and April,
Please. Arguing won't solve anything; Only way to solve this now. See for ourselves what things are going on in the places in question.
Discredit anything we desire.
False things do appear everywhere on internet.
But our own eyes won't cheat on us.
Come to Tibet; Everything will present themselves.
=>April, Remember: Harmonious is Important. I do thank you for your effort, but Elly here is just a common US citizen Cheated by American media. Everything she says is only what she sees on the media; you whould present her with truth, but she herself isn't lying or anything. Please apologise to her for that, and let's be friends again.
Regards, a worried man, Timm.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 20. April 2008, 21:22

Timm, I have access to the entire world's media. When 99% of the media is in agreement with what info I have found and 1% (being China) is different, what can a person surmise? Everyone knows about the "Great China Firewall". You do, too, I remember you talking about it. Why do you think it is there?

I guess the main things you should remember are:

Dalai Lama is to the Buddist and the world as the Pope is to the Roman Catholics of the world. He is a "world figure".

Everyone agrees that Tibet is part of China, including me if you see what I have written and researched up above.

Beggars are everywhere.

Minorities always complain of being oppressed. If they don't get what they want, they play that card.

Most people will present only those facts that ring favorably with their own opinions.

I read all you guys wrote and answered the questions posed to me.

It is interesting that the poem lists all ancient wrongs that China feels the world has done and perpetuates those to you when people like me don't feel the way the poem depicts and had no idea you were called or treated in such ways in antiquity; yet, when the Tibetians use the exact same antiquity-reasoning with regards to their cause, China goes all "modern" and says that was then and this is now. Hey, if you guys can reason that way, so can they.

You are sweet to ask April to apologize to me, Timm. This cultural exchange of ideas is very interesting to me as I am experiencing first-hand what you believe.

You realize, of course, that during this entire exchange, no one really asked me what I believe? I feel that the "you" in various comments meant the world, right, and not me personally?

So, I am humbly going to tell you what I feel and believe after this whole dialogue between all of us.

I feel:

One. Tibet is part of China.
Two. Exiled Tibetians want Tibet to be free from China.
Three. Buddists want Tibet to be free from China.
Four. Dalai Lama is a Nobel Prize winner and head of the Tibetian Government in Exile and head of the Buddist religion.
Five. The Panchan Lama and his choser that were recognized by the Dalai Lama were arrested by the Chinese government and I don't know what happened to them and I feel this issue is more important than the Free Tibet issue since it deals with an innocent child.
Six. China executes business executives that damage the world, this is fine with me and most people with whom I have had this discussion about. We were shocked to find out it happened, though.
Seven. China is a great country and I enjoy learning about it and seeing and viewing media about it and eating the food and learning it's history.
Eight. World views are affected by where one lives.
Nine. American Indian groups are being manipulated by a lot of people who want to establish gambling casinos (because gambling is against the law in the USA, except on Indian reservations, bodies of water, and parts of Nevada.)
Ten. The quality of goods throughout the world is going down, which is increasingly making the USA citizenry hesitant to buy things from places with a bad track record.
Eleven. Wikipedia is a "living encyclopedia", by which I mean, the whole world can and does contribute to its content, making it changeable, as I have found! Being so, its veracity is somewhat nebulous so info found there has to be researched in other sources before one quotes from it, which is why it has the Bibliographies at the end of articles and sometimes has warnings that the info doesn't have enough sources or is being disputed. This makes it very up-to-date but difficult to use as a source when having a debate because the info quoted can be changed or even deleted, as I found out.

Most importantly, I have found that:

Discussing politics is a complex subject where some people get very hot-headed. One needs to be very mature to broach such subjects and realize that it is not in any ways an attack on a person to have opposing viewpoints.

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 21. April 2008, 00:34

Dear Elly,
Sometimes the truth are held in the hands of the minority.
Before the famous experiment of the lean tower, nearly everybody thinks that a big heavy iron ball falls faster than a small light iron ball.
And you know the truth in this case because you HAVE EXPERIENCED yourself.
I should list my PoV too- the poem isn't written by me, and the "you" isn't you yourself, Elly. It refers to the false and prejudiced reports of 99% of the western media. When such a massive discrimination happens, please allow us to play "that card". That we are very sad.
Understandable really. Indeed, people's PoV is strongly affected by the place they live and the media they believe. I didn't mean to change that fact; I just hope people can and will find out the truth before they agree or disagree with something.
Chinese people values the benefits of nation better then individuals. The Chinese word for "nation" is "国家", which means "the country and the home". No country, No home. Look into the history of Chinese; you probably will understand why Chinese people have such different values than most western people. They suffered MUCH.
Come to Tibet; ask common people what their lives were like before PRC was founded. Their lives were worse than livestocks; Dalai Lama had capital power over them; they must give everything they have to the REAL oppressors; that's why the exile "government" want a free Tibet - to resume their reign of chaos and oppression in the highest of the world.
I agree that we all need to keep a cool head; but something made us unable and unwilling to be cool-headed. Goto http://www.anti-cnn.com and have a look at what western media are reporting; they misdirected the people's opinion; they made friendly western people hostile to China; they made the gap between us wider, and deeper.
We are wounded deeply.
...I don't want to continue this... It just... hurts. Something I worked so hard and dreamed al along had been proved to be useless in an instant; I'm soooooo sad...
I want to cry. But my eyes had already forgotten how to cry anymore. They just can't....
Regards, a man with a bleeding heart, Timm.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 21. April 2008, 03:08

Timm, I don't hate you or your country; my son and his collegiates are going to China and they are sooooooooooooooooo excited and reading about China and learning about your culture so they don't offend anyone.

Remember, no one can say 100% of anything is true or false.

Also remember, even the news people are in it to make money and keep their fame, so they grab at the popular things of the moment to stay in the publics' eyes and get viewer numbers.

Also remember, there are a lot of educated people in the world.

Take heart, Timm.

Elly

Eliane a/k/a Elly 22. April 2008, 03:51

Many people would like to believe that Tibet is its own country, however, because they remained isolated from the world powers for so long, did not have sovereignty clearly recognized by world powers, and did not have a unified political and geographical area, it is truly difficult to say, factually, that Tibet was its own country. Consequently, when it was annexed by China, there was little force behind the government's claim that it was sovereign and thus, they received no help from foreign governments. So, Tibet is technically part of China and is recognized as such by every government in the world.

张弛 Sir AzureTimm, Kingdom of Love 22. April 2008, 06:36

Isolated from the world? Not anymore. Anyone can goto Tibet freely; No any further documents needed as long as you are in PRC.
Which is because Tibet belongs to China.
Regards, a man organizing his desk, Timm.

Eliane a/k/a Elly 25. April 2008, 22:30

The above paragraph is the reason why Tibet wasn't called its own country and not recognized by other governments -- I answered the question posed to me.

See the "was".

Have to pay attention to verb's past tense.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 30. April 2008, 06:47

To Elly and Timm:

I apologize for using the strong word "lying", I should have just stated plainly that the quote can't be found from the link provided. I think Timm is right, no matter what, we can't blame Elly for what she read, the problem is the media. I hope this will bring peace to all of us.

I could and I can comment on each and every point Elly brought up but I chose not to do so because there is no point to argue. It's better Elly do her own research. You may go to wikipedia and youtube search for "Tibet" where you can get stories form both sides.

Peace.

Aprilsnow 四月雪 30. April 2008, 06:52

To Timm:

Since this Tibet issue may stay for a while, to keep the record complete, I just want to add this photo to your post, it's a record showing that the Dalai Lama's title was actually approved by the central government, you can find more details including a photo picture in my updated post (in my blog) about Tibet history "The Testimony of Tibet History".

On May 2, 1940, Lin Sen, President of the Nationalist Government, issued a decree consenting to the succession of Lhamo Dondrup as the 14th Dalai Lama and appropriating 400,000 yuan to meet the expenses of his enthronement.

One last thing you may want to do (I want too) is to research the origin of the title "Dalai Lama", it was in fact initiated by the central government, not Tibetan Buddhism, but I am quite tired, bye now Timm.

Didn't the USA save China from Japan during WWII? Didn't the USA liberate the regions of China which the Japanese conquered?

Man, those Japanese were really horrendous during the WWII!!!!!!!

I read these above from 11:45 to now, it's a long story to read, you Aprilsnow and Momable must have done many researches on this topic, thank you for all.

Before I got this issue clearly, I won't take part in this game, but since Momable had pointed the WWII issue, I would willing to say I have a great appreciation for your American's help!

Thank you!

American is a great nation, I've read something like this: when somebody say, "go hell, Americans!" in a library, many people in that library clapped, the American here just smiled.

This is why American is the greatest country in this planet, I thought.

So I added this to my blog right now: A great country should learn to hear some verbal abuse carried forward, and then smile.

China needs to learns to get used to the criticism the world gave us, no matter it is right or wrong. It's not so important to find who is right or wrong.

We need to learn to smile, we are not victims anymore, we are now playing some decisive role in the world, we must responsible for the world.

It is not only China's business now when we export our good to the other countries. We are living in the same planet you know. So when we polluted our land, the Japanese would have to plant trees in north China to try to relieve sand storm. Who caused this? God knows, it is not the key point, the key is we must responsible for many things.

China was like a boy in the adult world in the past years, maybe we are now not young anymore.
