my life story, concerts

http://bamatone.livejournal.com/279311.htmlSince I last checked in, I went to Jacksonville Beach, FL for my cousin's wedding. The wedding was nice, but the highlight was this italian restaurant called
Mario's Pizzeria (or Mario's at the Beach... depends on who you ask). Yes, they have pizza. But I didn't have any. I was too busy stuffing my face with lobster ravioli and a lobster tail the first night (along with Mom's pan seared sea scallops and Dad's calamari, muscles, clams, and yes... little baby octopi), and veal marsala the second night. Add to the mix many bottles of Chianti, and yes, it was definitely the highlight of the trip.

As for this weekend... Oy, where to start. True, A-Day. But I didn't go, and it honestly it wasn't even the main event of the weekend. (Blasphemy, I know.) The party Friday night at my apartment was off the charts. The kitchen table was broken (see illustration A, left), there's a hole in the wall (see illustration B, right), there was hooking up, hearts were broken, wrestling ensued and black eyes were doled out. We had at least three noise complaints and the courtesy offer threatended to have the police break up the party. We could probably live comfortably for a few weeks on the money we'd make selling all the leftover alcohol.
Good times. We'll do it again next A-Day weekend, hopefully at a bigger venue.
Tonight I'm going to Dave Matthews! I threw together a
quick list of stuff I wouldn't mind hearing.
Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for Orlando for the
Talisma Customer Conference, which includes a trip to Sea World on Thursday.

I don't think I've said anything about it yet here in the LJ, but goddamn I'm glad Alabama hired Anthony Grant.
That was
one of three commercials for UA that aired during the A-Day game, which was nationally televised on ESPN.
Here is the first commercial with Coach Grant. And here is the football commercial:
This... is Alabama football.

crimson tide, my life story, braves, baseball
Original URL:
http://bamatone.livejournal.com/279036.htmlAlabama baseball has kicked into high gear. They
obliterated Troy [St.] last night to the tune of 22-4. It isn't often I get to see two grand slams. The Tide will take on #2 LSU this weekend here at home, but I can't see it.

I'll be in beachy Jacksonville, FL for some cousin's wedding.
After Jacksonville, there's A-Day and Trent's wedding next weekend. (Party at my place April 17!) Then the
Dave Matthews concert on Monday, 4/20. Then I'm off to Orlando for the rest of the week for the Talisma Customer Conference. Cathy plans on visiting the weekend after that. UA graduation is the Saturday after that. Saint James class of '99 reunion is the Saturday after that! (Ohhhh God.) Then I'm finally free for a while.
Not sure if I've mentioned here yet, but I'm going with a bunch of friends to
Belize this summer! The hotel and flight are both taken care of. All that's left is to actually go, then figure out how to get from Belize City to Placencia. After that it's a matter of
choosing our adventures.
I really want to get the Braves "Summer Saturdays"
four game ticket pack. Matchups include the Brewers (6/6), Mets (7/18), Dodgers (8/1), and Phillies (8/15), and as of now I'm free for all of them. I already scored free tickets to the Friday night, July 31 game against the Dodgers. It would be awesome to stay that night and go back to the Saturday game. Anyone want to get in on this with me? The cheapest seats for this package are $11 (per game) and are in the upper deck. The most expensive are still only $35 and on the terrace level (way worth it). But you can mix and match seats for each game. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Game on!

Top 10 Obama Gaffes on its web site.
The latest faux pas occurred yesterday, when
Michelle Obama briefly put her hand on the back of Queen Elizabeth II. Apparently, touching the queen is a big no no.
Edit:
Newsweek also has a piece on America and her deteriorating friendships in Britain and Europe.

my life story, widgets, opera

I somehow got addicted to
SimAquarium, an Opera widget. (Maybe this will get me off Mob Wars on Facebook.) Here's what it looks like now:
I've got freshwater angelfish, clown loaches, and fairy cichilds. I had guppies, but I accidentally sold them all off. They don't make any money anyway. Plus certain types of fish don't like more than x number of other fish in the tank, and it's tough to keep a crowded tank with the fairy cichilds. (They end up fighting each other!)
Before that I had zebrafish and guppies:
I also had water plants instead of the underground cave scenery. And in between there was coral reef. As you get better scenery and lighting, the fish become more "comfortable," and thus breed more quickly.
In the beginning, you breed guppies (worth $12). Then when you have better scenery, lighting, and filters (to handle the pollution of bigger and larger numbers of fish), you can move on to fairy cichilds (worth $224). I'm finally to the point now where I'm breeding freshwater angelfish, worth $1,792. The only catch with them is that they grow a lot more slowly than the other two types and consume a lot more food. The clown loaches take forever to mature, but they look nice.
I've got the most advanced filter and the best lighting. Next I'm working on the pirates' treasure scenery, then seashells! After I've made a shit ton of money, I'll put in some goldfish and maybe some sea turtles and dolphins. They're just to look at, though. They breed extremely slowly.
Isn't my life awesome?
