Sonic Death Monkey update

Overall record is 17-10-3, good for 5th of 12.
The following is an email to a friend. I figured since I typed it all up I may as well just post it here, too.
I decided it was far enough into the season to make a bunch of moves:
First, I let Sherrill go. I did get his save from last night, though. Also, today I see Yahoo fantasy "experts" tagged him as a "sell high" player. I guess they think he's too good to be true as well. It's a pity I didn't have the time to try and trade him. But no big deal.
I tried to trade Smoltz before news of his shoulder problem hit, and then he DL'd. No luck, though. I have him on the DL on my roster and picked up Jair Jurrjens in his place (also a Brave).
I dropped Jermaine Dye and picked up Carlos Quentin. The experts seem to think he's the real deal. He's already got me a homerun today, his first day on my roster.
I finally gave in and dropped Saltalamacchia. C/1B is not as weak for me as 2B/SS, so I picked up Erick Aybar finally. My intention was to bench Reyes and play Aybar at SS, but as Reyes went 3-3 and stole a base last night, I may bench Richie Weeks and play Aybar at 2B instead.
Since I DL'd Smoltz, I had an extra roster spot and picked up Evan Longoria of the (D) Rays. Maybe he'll work out long term and maybe he won't, but he's not slumping like Youk is right now (last night's game aside - btw, wtf stolen base?). I will start Longoria only against right handers (check out the hideous numbers). If he dies down, I'll go back to Youk or Crede, who btw is hitting some homeruns lately but not doing much else.
I proposed a trade a couple of days ago that would send Jose Reyes to an opponent for Jimmy Rollins. Considering how far back Reyes's woes go, he may or may not break out of his season long slump. Either way, Rollins is almost just as capable. My opponent may have more faith in Reyes than I do, plus his replacement for the currently DL'd Rollins isn't so hot.
Lastly, I put in a waiver claim for Curtis Granderson, who will replace Griffey if successful. We'll find out tomorrow.
As of now, my roster looks like this:
C McCann
1B Tex/Youk
2B Weeks/Aybar
3B Youk/Crede/Longoria
SS Reyes/Aybar
OF ManRam, Quentin, Fancoeur, Griffey (pending waiver swap)
SP Sabathia, Greinke, Jurrjens, Penny, Owings, Smoltz (DL)
RP Jenks, Soria, Valverde, Betancourt (ouch, last night)
Also, Smoltz may come back from the DL and close again.
Btw, anyone can see my league: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/244981
