Speaking to the Polish Sejm (Parliament) in July 1989, US President George Bush announced the establishing of the Polish-American Enterprise Fund. In November the same year, US Congress adopted the SEED Act (Support for East European Democracy) which provided grounds for creating the Polish-American Enterprise Fund (PAFP). The Fund commenced its activities in May 1990 to offer to the Polish business new development opportunities resulting from access to loans and investments. This way, the Fund took its commitment in building Poland’s market economy.

At the start of its operation, the Fund received $240 million in a US Administration grant. Then, the Fund’s successful investment and lending programs helped to make this amount nearly 10 times bigger. Over $2 billion of this was effectively used to develop Polish entrepreneurship through providing loans to small business, offering mortgage loans, and developing the consumer loans and equity investments.

The Polish-American Enterprise Fund is a shining example of the creative use of American and recipient country talents to make a difference” - said the US Secretary of State Colin Powell during the celebration in recognition of the performance of the PAEF and our Foundation held on November 5th, 2001 in Washington.

The Educational Enterprise Foundation established jointly by the Fund and the Polish Government in 1991 has distributed 20,000 grants to the best Polish students of economics. The Micro Fund started by PAFP in 1994 continues its lending program addressed to the smallest businesses. It has granted about 70,000 loans to these businesses throughout its 10-years life and almost all of them are paying back in time and keep expanding their companies.

The amount of $120 million, that is, half of the Fund’s initial capital ($240 million), has been reimbursed to the US budget for the first time in all the history of American foreign aid. At the same time, US Congress agreed in co-ordination with the Polish government to convert over $200 million into the endowment fund of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation which was established by PAEF. Revenues from the perpetual fund are the Foundation’s source of financing.

8 września 2000 r. Ambasada Polska w Londynie – Pani Rosalind
Copisarow, pierwszy prezes Funduszu Mikro, została odznaczona Krzyżem
Oficerskim Orderu Zasługi dla Rzeczpospolitej.

W 2001 roku wyróżnienia „Rzetelny Partner w Biznesie”
otrzymało klikudziesięciu właścicieli małych firm – klientów
Funduszu Mikro. Tytuł przyznawał Fundusz Mikro wyróżniającym się
przedsiębiorcom.

5 listopada 2001 r. na zaproszenie Sekretarza Stanu USA Colina Powella,
prezes Funduszu Mikro Witold Szwajkowski wziął udział w spotkaniu w
Departamencie Stanu USA. Celem spotkania było upamiętnienie zwrotu przez
Polsko Amerykański Fundusz Przedsiębiorczości 120 mln USD do skarbu USA. W
1989, powołany z inicjatywy prezydenta George’a Busha PAFP otrzymał
od rządu USA 240 mln USD na wspieranie prywatnej przedsiębiorczości w
Polsce.

Maj 2001 r. Bratysława – IV Doroczna Konferencja Instytucji
Mikropożyczkowych z Europy Wschodniej, Centralnej i Nowych Niepodległych
Państw organizowana przez Centrum Organizacji Mikrofinansowych. Ponad 200
uczestników reprezentujących cały region omawiało najbardziej istotne
zagadnienia związane z działalnością instytucji mikrofinansowych. Fundusz
Mikro reprezentowali: prezes zarządu Witold Szwajkowski oraz dyrektor ds.
relacji międzynarodowych Agata Szostek

4 kwietnia 2002 r. Warszawa - Konferencja zorganizowana przez Fundusz
Mikro poświęcona mikroprzedsiębiorczości. Jednym z gości konferencji był
Minister Andrzej Olechowski oraz wiceprezes zarządu Fundacji CASE Ewa
Balcerowicz, która prezentowała wyniki badań „Mikroprzedsiębiorstwa
– sytuacja ekonomiczna, finansowanie, właściciele”
przeprowadzonego przez Fundację Centrum Analiz Sopołeczno-Ekonomicznych.

Październik 2002 r. – luty 2003 r. odbył się w 14 miastach w Polsce
cykl seminariów „Pozyskaj kapitał, zainwestuj w swoim
mieście”. Łącznie uczestniczyło w nim 700 lokalnych przedsiębiorców.
Seminaria odbywały się pod patronatem miejscowych samorządów. Gośćmi
spotkań byli również eksperci TP S.A., Enterprise Investors, Bank
Śląski/EBOR.

This movie is worth falling for ,when u really want to hold the hands of Magi,feel her,touch her and really leave the eternity to just be with her. The theme was so wonderful that u really want to live with the characters and just hope to be one of them, that proves why man is afraid to die ,because he know that he will lose all the sensations for what human being is really crafted by the god, to live in pain leaving the eternity,but to feel love.The characters are excellently played,even the scores following were just letting you feel the theme and live with the characters. I really can't understand the harsh notes of critics and there sharp views but I can feel that this movie is worth falling for, even if you have to loose your eternity.
