Truckenees - Lesson No. 4
Saturday, June 23, 2007 12:00:00 PM
This is lesson number 4 in my series “Truckenees”, how to speak the trucker lingo.
Remember, the following is not just for the CB radio. These terms and phrases are part of the everyday language of the modern trucker.
Extra tip: A "City Kitty" is a local policeman, not a house cat!
This week:
“Ground Pressure” - weight, pounds, the amount of gravitational force upon the ground
“Load of Dispatchers Brains” - running empty, no load in trailer (also known as sail boat fuel)
“Wiggle Wagon” - a 28 foot "pup" trailer normally pulled in a pair one behind the other
“Super Trucker” - usually referring to a new or inexperienced driver for a large trucking company
Now, let us use these new terms in a sentence, shall we.
“Any super trucker can tell you that there is little ground pressure when ya got a set of wiggle wagons full of dispatchers brains.”
