I daily meet many people and interact with them. I have very few problems when it comes to dealing with others, but every now and then, I come across someone who just pushes all the right buttons, someone who makes my tea pot whistle, someone who makes me want to kick a puppy. These people are rare, but they are there.

I ran into one of these people last night while eating at a truckstop. This guy was not even talking to me but I was sitting at the counter with 5 other drivers and I could not help but hear him as he voiced his opinion to all who would listen. His facts on current events where so far off base that I began to twitch. He went on to tell everyone that Zarqawi was not dead because Zarqawi wears a lead vest and helmet. I started to shake a little when I heard that line. He was so whacked out that he concluded our country would be much better off if slavery was still legal here in the USA. That's when I started looking for a puppy.

A cool aid drinker by nature, this guy drives 10 to 15 hours per day, plays his Dixie Chick tape over and over and gets his news from CB channel 19. He believes the first thing he hears and sticks with it until death do he part. He has never turned a page on a news paper but yet he knows what is wrong with the world and knows how to fix it. He is a sad little man stuck in a truck drivers body.

I had to get up and leave (as did the other drivers) to keep from saying or doing something that would be later entered into evidence at the trial.

Sadly, this is how many truck drivers used to be, but today, we have XM radio and the internet. Drivers have a wealth of knowledge at their disposal. Most drivers now can sit and have a wonderful, educated discussion or even a lively debate and can walk away happy in knowing we live in the greatest country in the world. Today's trucker also knows when to just get up and walk away. Thank God for giving me that wisdom last night.I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
