They were cold I guess. It was in December and the temperature was below 0°C at midday...

No I guess that they are past worrying ;-) That's IS cold! In Paris the coldest temperature this winter was -15°C and that is pretty cold for Paris. It's especially hard for the homeless. Do you live in Siberia then (I know it's a silly question since you mentioned Siberian pigeons:doh: but I like asking silly questions...)

Well, it's mine too... I sometimes believe that it is because I was born in February and therefore I have a "special" bond with winter. I don't fear it as much as summer (if it makes any sense). But people here find me sometimes wierd to like winter. I like the melancholy of winter, the crisp sunshine on snow, the pure blue skies, the shorter days, watching the snow fall and then crack under the shoe!
