Thank you Andrew! I have to say that I wish I could thank all these individuals who make the Venice Carnival so beautiful! Every year they come back to Venice (some are regulars) with new costumes, masks, etc... They make it happening! Not us the people taking pictures. They are so creative (sometimes it works sometimes it does not but they try!!!!) So if ever I get someone looking at this pictures and say "It was me on this picture" I want them to know that I am ever so grateful to let us feast our eyes on the result of their imagination and hard work!
very intersting album. is there a name for this style of costuming? i feel that the person is lost in persona. or is that the point? it's almost an allegory for society. you must where a mask and hide your true self to fit in. thank you, little thorn.
You are quite right Badboy: you do have to wear a mask and costume to fit in this world! As for a name for this type of costume, I am not aware of any. It stems from an ancient tradition in Venice when everyone in the city was allowed to wear a mask to go on their everyday business... Just like us nowadays really!!!
