My first love

, , , ,

David Bowie was my first idol: I was thirteen when I discovered this genius while a lot of my peers were raving about Michael Jackson and his Billie Jean. Not me... I fell under the spell of his eyes, his voice, and yes his mouth! I know it sounds a bit strange.

Anyway, I started to collect records (at the time they were vinyls LPs and cassettes), books, anything about him. I would have given my life to be there at his "goodbye" concert at Hammersmith Odeon in July 1973 (I was 3 then)...

My favourite David Bowie's LPs were:
The Man Who Sold the World ("All the Madmen" is about his half-brother who was suffering from schizophrenia and committed to a psychiatric hospital)
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Aladin Sane (which means A Lad Insane)
Heroes (Beautiful song!)
Scary Monsters and Supercreeps (and the famous "Ashes to Ashes")
Have you seen the movies he's been in?
