"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence." ~Ansel Adams

Whatever next?

There has been a determined effort by the country’s Registrar of Births,
Deaths and Marriages to prevent parents from using increasingly bizarre
names.

Over 100 names have been rejected over the last two years, including
Messiah, 89, and C.

In 2008, a nine-year-old girl legally changed her name from Talula Does the
Hula From Hawaii after a judge chastised her parents for choosing the
forename.

The same year the agency allowed a pair of twins to be named Benson and
Hedges and a young boy to be called Number 16 Bus Shelter.

Other names banned in New Zealand include, Baron, Bishop, Duke, General,
Judge, Justice, King, Knight and Mr, as they were all deemed to be too
similar to titles.

Why would a parent subject their child to a lifetime of teasing and ridicule?

Well unfortunately it does happen and it's nothing new... But I think it's selfish and utterly cruel. And it says a lot about the parents!!!!! It only confirms what I already think of the human race as a whole. Obviously one cannot generalise but I observe people, I find it increasingly frustrating!

If people would only stop and think of the harm that they cause. Both from what they do and also from what they don't do! In catholicism we have sins of omission as well as sins of commission. But, as I said I am not a good catholic. Thank you littlethorn. I always find things that cause a pause for thought on your site.cheers
