Protesting students

,

I'm not really sure about the reason why university students are protesting, but my mother says that it's because the tuition fees were raised? Anyway, i saw it on the news on friday and this guy - i assume he's one of the students - said something about beating someone - i'm assuming he means someone who works at the university - up. What the fudge?!
My mother worked over-time and on weekends to pay for my tuition which is twice the amount of normal universities. I'm not being racist or anything, but in south africa it's always black people who are seen as under-privileged and no one else. They get jobs more easily because of this B.E.E. thing going on and yet it's them who do all the protesting. I don't understand why. Maybe they have a good reason. I understand when workers protest, but students? Tuition fees go up every year and we just have to pay if we want an education. Universities have to supply us with all the facilities we need, it's not like the money for all that falls from the sky. If there's a problem then talk about it. Don't go threatening to beat up people. Let's be mature about this people, jeez!

My uni in Dublin was designed to cope with student riots, with underground tunnels for the staff to escape through. But tuition fees are a way of maintaining the status quo, too. People on lower incomes can't afford them, so their kid end on lower incomes too. So it's not altogether straightforward. But, yes, violence or threats won't solve the problem.

Your university sounds cool, seriously, underground tunnels? That's so cool

It is pretty cool. It was designed by a Polish guy in the sixties, and he had certain soviet hangups :D

Jeez, i wish cool people like that existed in south africa.

I'm sure that they do. But big projects take capital and willpower.

I guess you're right, but it would be awesome if i knew about secret passageways and stuff, then i could play secret agent and pretend to be 5 years old.

 Or turn off the generator and go around with infrared glasses, pretending to be an alien. A lot of the rooms are so far insid the building that there's no natural light at all at all.
