Ok I have been tagged, I guess I am supposed to reveal 5 things that you don't know about me. That is easy since, chances are YOU DON'T KNOW me.

Here goes..........

I am afraid of thunder, yes, it makes me scared. I do keep it inside though and don't crawl into my parents bed anymore, only because they live half an hour away from me.

Second, I snort when I laugh. Enough said.

Thirdly, I don't like the show survivor, and am sick of people talking to me about it. There is a reason that I wasn't in the office pool.

Fourth, sometimes I drink right out of the milk carton!!! My husband loves that. hahahaha

Fifth, I am obssessed with the popcorn snack called "smartfood", its a cheddar chesse flavor popcorn..... I can't stop thinking about at times, and must have it.... I just ate some. yummm

Well, I am finally going to take the plunge. I am applying to be part of the RCMP here in Canada. I already work as a civilian employee but I want to be the real deal. I know that I am qualified enough, I have drive and I am excited about it. But, there is always that lurking feeling that I just might not make it. I seem to be so afraid of failure that I think that it has held me back in life.

I know that if I don't make it, I will be alright, highly disapointed but alright. My first step is to go through the orientation part, and then I have to take a written test to show my academic skills, and then a personality test. If.... they see that I am not crazy then I they send me a package to fill out about my background, to make sure that I am not a criminal. Then I have to do a physical test..... then I think that there is an interview and finally the lie detector test. Its such a long process, it takes up to a year.

Anyways.... I just felt that I had to tell the world about this

Being Judged

I have had the same conversation with a variety of collegues and friends, being "why don't people treat us with respect". As children we are taught not to "judge a book by its cover". There have been so many books, and movies based on this subject, such as beauty and the beast. Unfortunealty life is not this way at all, and I have to admit that I have been guilty of this myself. I have been pleasantly suprised that my frist judgements have been horribly wrong.

Being a female in my late 20's, that wears almost no make-up and dresses causally, I fall vicitm to people's presumptions and bias. I feel this the most when I go shopping. Apparently I must look young and poor to most sales people out there. For example, I went into Dania Down quilts in the mall to buy new sheets for my king size bed. As my husband and I were browsing, the sales lady felt the need to announce to us that the discount bin was at the back. Rather then asking us if we needed help, or, what we were looking for, she automatically assumed that we could not afford anything. It was the manner and tone of voice she used that made us feel inferior. Although, we can afford what we need, what if we were poor? Is this a fair way to treat someone?

I often find that people hide thier true selves in clothes and makeup. Me though, I just don't care, and if you judge me, then you lose a sale and may lose the chance to get to know an incredible person. I will not dress up to get fair treatment when I shop. It is truly difficult not to base people on what they wear. How many times have we labeled a woman as a slut by her outfit? I try to base people on thier actions and not thier looks. It's a life lesson for me, because I have been on the other end too often enough to know that it hurts.

Work sucks

Well, I love working with a room filled with women. Actually thats a blatant lie. Eventhough I am female, I don't seem to fit in with the cattiness and vindictiveness that others seem to bestow on me. I am the kind of person who shows up to do my job, and I am pretty friendly with my co-workers and the buck stops there. I don't really care about thier sex lives, how stupid their boyfriends are, or what so and so is wearing.

Apparently I have pissed of someone there who has now started to monitor my break times. She isn't my boss or superior. I happened to stumble across her notebook and just happened to see her writing down everything that I do. The odd part is that she is the one that talks her head off and then complains that she has too much work to do. It is very hard to look at her and fight the urge to rip her head off at the same time. I can't figure out if I have done something to her or what. Maybe she picked up on the fact that I don't really give a damn about her life and the stories that I have already heard 10000000 times.

What should I do? I am not concerned that she will complain about my breaks (and no I am not abusing them). I just hate the fact that someone is plotting my demise and waiting for me to screw up. It makes my day just peachy keen. Where do these people come from and why do they have so much time fretting about someone else?

Ok.... I feel better now. Its almost the weekend!!!

Is there a polite way to get someone at work to stop talking for hours on end???? There is this one woman who talks and talks, even if you have your back towards her. HELP ME. There is only so much that I can tune out.

HI everyone!!

I am new to this "blog" thing, but, I have totally been impressed by so many other peoples pages!!

I basically wanted to start this blog to share the many opinions and things we go through in life. The good, the bad and the Ugly. Lately a re-occuring theme in my life is really bad customer service. I know I look young, but I have money to buy stuff, so help me.

I love to read about other peoples cultures and experiences. Please share anything that you want with me. I don't even know where to start. I just wanted to say "hi" for now!
