Go Forth and Seek Your Fortune!

A young man's search for meaning....and minimal employment.

Life Is Unexpected....But Good.

I write this only a few feet from where I penned my first post, in a cubicle. I am feeling many of the feelings I felt back when I wrote about how awful cubicle life was. Luckily for me, I'm only here for a few days. I never did get completely rid of the corporate gig. I have been a part time stiff for quite a while now, and, it turns out, it is a pretty good thing. The steady paycheck allows me to lead the slower paced life I prefer. Even though life has slowed down on the cubicle front, in many ways it has sped up. I have been traveling a lot - by the end of the year I'll have hit 20 to 30 cities and a handful of countries -the girlfriend has joined the circus, the economic collapse has hit close to home and I have discovered coffee, which has really helped things speed up. I have not done everything I had planned in these past few months but my plans were loose and I am truly happy with where I am now; I'm at a rest stop on the path to meaning...and minimal employment.
