Right now I'm drinking a VERY large soda!

The 12 hour train rides went by really fast, save for a few annoying occurances. I, for one, did not know people had the gall to guzzle beer and turn their travel DVD players up to obnoxious levels during the trip. There should be rules against watching a Western film at mach 11 volumes and not using headphones--and there should also be rules against being really smelly and letting your phone ring and ring JUST so people can hear your stupid hip hop ringtone. Poop on you, Amtrak!
Trip highlights included visiting the Field Museum, oggling at the ADORABLE penguins at the Shedd Aquarium, eating TWO Chicago style hotdogs in one day, eating LOTS of stuffed pizza, and visiting the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago! I also saw a few people riding SEGWAYS around!!! I have a soft spot for Segways. I think they are positively goofy looking but fabulous in so many ways!
Visiting the Art Institute was very productive and exciting! I have been researching the Art Institutes for some time now because I have been thinking about getting another Bachelor's Degree, this time in Fashion Design! I KNOW that over 70% of you readers want me to be a video game journalist, but if I do fashion design I can finally develop my line of Nintendo fashion! I've got ideas for NES cocktail dresses, Wii jackets (that involve the blue glow via fiber optics!), screen tees, ETC! And I can still do blogging and whatnot! I just like both so much! ANYWAY, I have been up in the air about whether I want to apply to a school yet--I wasn't sure if I wanted to wait and save more money, or just wait to figure things out period, but when I visited the Art Institute I just got really excited! Plus *ANGELO*, my admissions rep, really encouraged me to apply. See, at the AI, you need to first have a phone interview (done!)--then you can fill out the application and stuff, BUT you need the person who interviewed you to write a letter of recommendation to the school to be accepted. And Angelo said he wrote a glowing letter, so I'm crossing my fingers! Plus I already have a BA in Visual Arts, so I think that will give me a good advantage! If everything goes well, I COULD be going to school *IN CHICAGO!* by October! OCTOBER!
I want adventure in my life, which is probably why I threw caution to the wind and went through the application process during my visit! I went in thinking I would definitely wait to do any of that stuff, but I have been doing this thinking for almost a year--so I think it's about time that I DO something! I don't want to get sucked into working at the bank all my life!
So now I just have to wait and see what happens!!
UNTIL then, I will pass the time by volunteering at the Humane Society! Tomorrow is my first day, and I get to walk all the dogs and puppies!!!
