Look I changed my name

,

I am now Beerlake.

Get it?!??

Beard

,

Today I shaved my beard.

I don't particularly like my beard. It grows pretty fast, which could be a good thing if it only was a bit thicker. But as it isn't very thick, I don't like to wear it all that much. And because I don't like to wear it all that much, it sort of sucks that it grows pretty fast.

Also, Vanessa Marcil is the hotness.

5 (more like 7) things I'd like to see in Opera...

,

For realz this time.

So, what happened was this. A quote from Opera Watch:

Once you've been tagged by someone, share your list (on your blog) of 5 things you'd like to see in Opera, and then tag up to 5 other people who will then post their own lists and tag up to 5 more people.

Feel free to list the things you'd like to see in Opera on the desktop, Opera Mini, Opera Mobile, and/or Opera on the Nintendo Wii.

From Opera Watch it went to Lawmune, from Lawmune to BAMAToNE, and Bambam tagged me. Curses be to him.

=============================================================================================
These are all for the desktop Opera.

1. More mouse customization please. Gestures are all well and good, but more traditional usage shouldn't be forgotten. It's amazing that I can't decide whether I want to open new tabs on foreground or in background. If I shiftclick a link, it always opens in the foreground tab. On the same note, extend the "Open in background tab" middleclick option to bookmark list (not panel or widget) as well. And mouse click modifiers should be customizable. I'd like to change the default modifier for opening links in tabs from left shift to left ctrl. I don't know if this is somehow possible, see the last wish for more on this. This whole mouse thing is my main reason for not using Opera.

2. Tab closing configs. I'd really like to have one closing button for tabs, much like FF 1.5 and older had by default, and FF 2.0 has an option for. Also, when closing tabs the focus is always switched to most recent tab? That should be entirely customizable as well. When I close a tab, I'd like the focus to be switched to the tab on the right. And in case the tab I close is the rightmost tab, then the focus should go to the tab on the left.

3. Custom ordering of toolbars. Since it's possible to drag & drop buttons freely between toolbars, why not make it possible to drag & drop the toolbars itself. I, for example, would like the tab bar be below the address bar, and personal toolbar below that. As far as I can tell, this is not possible. If it is, see the last wish for more on this.

4. Ability to find stuff in-page without the annoying popup box that opens with ctrl+f. The way it is done in Firefox hasn't been bested yet as far as I'm concerned. I seem to remember that this might be possible, but again, see the last wish for more on this.

5. I don't know who the preferences dialog was designed for, but on some areas it's a nightmare. Both the mouse and keyboard shortcut editing lists are a mess for example. I mean, I'm a long time computer user and now my way around it fairly well, but man, someone needs to pay better attention to all these options and where to put them. Now some of you may think that this dude is full of baloney, but hey that's what I, as a potential switcher, think. There are options that just aren't where I expect them to be and it's quite frustrating.

And here's a little bonus wish: adblocker. Similar to the Firefox extension adblock, where you have to do everything yourself, there is no default blacklist or anything like that. I understand that there are userscripts for this kind of thing, as well separate applications like admuncher, but admuncher costs money, and none of the userscripts I've tried come even close to what I would expect from a good adblocker.

Another bonus wish: In a textfield such as this, when the cursor is on the last line of text, the down arrow should jump the cursor to the end of the line, and when on the first line of text, the up arrow should jump the cursor to the beginning of the line.

In general I think Opera is nice, but small things like these keep me from changing to it.

And that's it. I hope you are happy now Bambam, that took almost too long.

I don't know who I should tag though. I mean, I don't know anyone around the opera community or any potential users either (with blogs anyway). So I may just edit this post later to add the tags, but for now I won't tag anyone.

5 things I'd like to see in Opera...

So I was tagged by BAMAToNE, and now I'm supposed to do this list thing.
